Happy Developmental Educator Week!

Did you know DLi has Developmental Educators (DEs) as part of our Specialist Behaviour Support Team?

Developmental Educators bring a strong rights-based, person-centred approach to their work, supporting people with disability to build capacity, develop skills, achieve their goals and exercise choice and control in their everyday lives.

Our Practitioner Lead, Megan, reflects on the meaningful impact of this work:
"I've observed firsthand the meaning of a 'pebble in a pond'. The ripple effect of our supports extends not just to our clients, but also to their families and communities. It's an amazing pond to be a part of, and it's what keeps me motivated."

Ongoing NDIS reform

Like many people living or working within the disability sector, you may be aware of changes to the NDIS and wondering what these could mean for participants, families and disability support providers.

The Australian Government has introduced changes to NDIS funding arrangements, including reductions to funding in some support categories.

These changes are being introduced progressively from October 2026, as participant plans are reassessed or renewed.

What does this mean for DLi clients?

At this stage, the impact will vary depending on individual circumstances and NDIS plans.

At DLi, we're closely monitoring these changes and working to understand what they may mean for the people we support.

As an established and experienced disability service provider, DLi has strong organisational foundations and a continued focus on long-term sustainability. This places us in a strong position to navigate sector changes while continuing to respond to the evolving needs of our clients and community.

Our commitment remains the same - providing quality, person-centred supports that help people live the lives they choose.

💛 Today is R U OK? Day – a powerful reminder that every day is a good day to ask, “Are you OK?” Because a simple conversation can change a life.

At DLi, our incredible workforce extends right across Adelaide – from our corporate teams to our dedicated Community Support Workers supporting clients in their homes and out in the community.

Today, we’re taking the opportunity to check in and make sure our teams – whether in the office or out supporting clients – have the chance to both ask and be asked that important question: “Are you OK?”

We’ve also shared a few care packs with staff to encourage those moments of connection. Because while cake and biscuits bring people together… conversations can change lives.
