🇳🇵 Nepal Flood Relief – The next stage of support
Wilderness in Nepal is pleased to share an update on the next stage of our flood relief efforts in Nepal.
On Friday, 18 September, our in-country partner Kushudebu Public Health Mission Nepal (KPHMN) carried out a relief distribution programme for flood-affected families in Bidur Municipality Ward No. 2, Nuwakot.
With your contributions and from other organistaions, 300 relief kit bags and other essential supplies were distributed to families affected by the floods. Medical gloves, masks and reusable gloves were also provided to the District Health Office for ongoing use.
Working in a new affected area required close coordination with the Ward Chairperson and local representatives, whose knowledge was vital in identifying families most in need and ensuring the relief reached the right people.
This next stage of support is a reminder of the importance of strong local partnerships. Through KPHMN’s on-the-ground knowledge and the generosity of our supporters, WIN is able to help provide practical assistance where it is needed most.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to the Flood Appeal, and to KPHMN, local government representatives, volunteers and community members who continue to give their time and energy to support flood-affected families.
The photos and videos shared with us from Nuwakot show both the impact of the floods and the difference this support is making.
