Playgroup WA

Playgroup WA Playgroup WA has been supporting, servicing and establishing playgroups throughout Western Australia since 1972. Did you know?

Research shows children who attend playgroup are less likely to be developmentally vulnerable when they start school. Joining a playgroup can be one of the most rewarding experiences for you and your child. Play provides children with the opportunity to learn, experience, investigate and interact with the environment. It builds their social and emotional confidence. Playgroup is also one of the be

st ways to encourage parents to take time out, slow down and connect with their child and peers in a fun and happy environment. Thousands of families enjoy the benefits of playgroup in sessions operating from Esperance to Kununurra, from Leonora to Lancelin and throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

This Father's Day, grab the fabric markers and let the kids decorate a cap for Dad. It's a simple craft, but the scribbles, colours, and effort that go into it make it one he'll want to keep.

This Indigenous Literacy Day, we’re celebrating the power of stories to share language, culture and connection 🧡

A beautiful book to explore with little ones is Ninni Yabini, a dual-language picture book written in Noongar and English. This story of a little swan finding her way home celebrates family, belonging and the importance of language and storytelling.

Ninni Yabini also has a special connection to Western Australia. Author Cheryl Kickett-Tucker is a Wadjak-Balladong-Yued Noongar woman, and illustrator Tyrown Waigana is a Wardandi Noongar and Ait Koedhal artist. Their connections to Noongar Country give this beautiful story a strong Western Australian connection.

This Indigenous Literacy Day, consider sharing Ninni Yabini at playgroup or at home and celebrating First Nations stories, languages and storytellers with the little ones in your life 🌿

At playgroup, babies, toddlers and preschoolers don't need matching skills to play together! Being in the same environment gives them the opportunity to learn and grow together 💙

Older toddlers and children naturally show younger ones how to play, share and take turns, while babies and younger toddlers are encouraged to reach, move and explore by watching those just a little further along than them

This is one of the special benefits of mixed age playgroups. Children aren't grouped by age or stage, they're grouped by community, and everyone has something to offer!
