Join us for the Refugee Week Community Lunch!
The Refugee Week 2026 Theme – A Million Stories recognises a huge milestone: Australia has issued one million permanent humanitarian visas since 1947.
Each story is unique. Each one is powerful. And together, they shape the Australia we all call home today.
Join us for a delicious Afghan meal prepared by local cook Fatema Weqar. Tell your story or listen to the stories of others.
We appreciate the Migrant Resource Centre Tasmania's support in providing artworks to showcase at our event. We will be joined by stallholders from CatholicCare Tasmania and Tasmanian Refugee Legal Service.
Please book your tickets following the link in the first comment. Places are limited due to our venue capacity.
As it is a community event, we are always on the hunt for volunteers to help us pack up and tidy up our hub! If you are interested in volunteering after the event, please contact Darya or Sudina at [email protected].
Our bi-monthly community lunches are supported by the Tasmanian Government, Healthy Tasmania’s Healthy Focus Program.
You can read more about the Refugee Week 2026 at the Refugee Council of Australia (RCOA) website.
