The Lipsiaki Brotherhood of Hobart Inc was formed in 1967. The original founders of the Brotherhood were Emmanuel Roussos, Yiannis Koumoundouros, Tasos Hiras, Christos Lucas, Emmanuel Giameos, Lazaros Gavalas, Sarantis Kalimnios, Kaliopi Kalimnios, George Mamacas and Vangelis Krambousanos. These individuals worked hard to set up the Brotherhood and to fundraise to help those people in need both ov
erseas and locally as well. Fundraising efforts included dances, picnics, BBQ’s and many other fun events. It bought together all the Lipsians and members of the greater Greek Community in Hobart. Our current committee consists of youth, experience and energy to take the Brotherhood well into the future. We have been discussing refreshing and building on our core values, vision and mission statements, to ensure that the Brotherhood moves forward and to guarantee its future existence, not only for our children but their children, to enjoy and nurture the Greek and Lipsian culture. We will continue our philanthropic support for both local and overseas Lipsians and local charities. In the past we have donated locally to the Hobart City Mission, Cancer Council, Heart Foundation and Multiple Sclerosis Society, and many others. We have also proudly supported and will continue to support the Greek Orthodox Church & Benevolent Society of St George in Hobart. The 2021 committee:
