The Shire New Horizons It is a friendly, inclusive group that has music & community at heart. The Shire New Horizon Band is part of The Shire Bands Inc.

New Horizons Band creates an entry point to group music-making for adult beginners and a comfortable re-entry point for adults who played music before, perhaps many years in the past. The New Horizons Band organisation was begun in Rochester, New York State by Professor Roy Ernst. His philosophy was that anyone can learn to play music at a level that will bring a sense of accomplishment and the ab

ility to perform in a group. His aim was to ensure that the style of instruction is completely supportive and free of auditions, competition and intimidation. Other bands under its banner are The Shire Concert Band, The Shire Stage Band and The Shire Blue Horizons Band.

‘Gazebo Grooves’ was the name given to our informal outdoor concert where we showcase music from term 1. This video features our ’Treloar Band’. Members of this band have come through our beginner program having not played before, our developing players and those choosing to play a second instrument. They are happy group, and have risen to the challenge of a wide range of music selected by their conductor Jo Holloway. Well Done 🎉
PS. What beautiful weather we had, thanks to family and friends who came along and I think we all enjoyed a sensational morning tea together! 😋☀️🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
