U11s Bangor Tigers vs Moore Park Tigers, Round 7 – Sunday, 31st May

A cold and damp morning at Moore Park, coupled with an early start, did little to slow the development of the Bangor U/11s, with every player making a valuable contribution to a strong team performance.

Captain Jordan led from the front, working tirelessly in and under the contest all day.
Pat was outstanding, kicking a couple of goals, while Liam consistently found himself in the right positions and was unlucky not to add more majors to the scoreboard. Finn also bagged a couple of goals, continuing his strong form.

The "Buckley Backline" of Chester and Harvey proved impenetrable in defence, while Ethan and Fraser were once again solid contributors through the midfield. Walid, Jack and Lachlan provided plenty of drive from the back half, and Arthur, Fox and Darcy worked hard and contributed across the entire ground.

A special thank you to all the parents for getting the boys to the game on time, and an extra special mention to the Bangor families who assisted Moore Park with setting up the ground. Their efforts were so appreciated that they may well have been mistaken for locals!

U11s Bangor Tigers vs Inner West Magpies, Round 6 – Sunday, 24th May

The Tigers produced one of their strongest all-round performances of the season on Sunday against the Inner West Magpies, with the overall attack on the ball a feature from the opening bounce. It was a genuine team effort across the ground, with plenty of players putting together season-best games and the group continuing to show great improvement in the way they work for each other.

The pressure and intent around the contest were outstanding, and the boys’ willingness to support teammates and spread hard both ways created plenty of opportunities. A big thank you also to the players who helped out on the Wests team to even up numbers, showing great sportsmanship and team-first attitude.

Darcy led from the front as captain and set the tone with his effort around the ground, while Fraser was terrific in and under, winning first use from tight packs and helping drive the ball forward. Harvey found plenty of the footy throughout the day, and Patrick was solid through the midfield and across half-back with his composure and work rate. Jordan continued his excellent season form with strong attacking run from the backline.

Thomas worked hard to get into good positions, finishing with a couple of quality goals after plenty of clean possessions. While up forward Finn was dangerous around goals and continued to create scoring opportunities with his elusive left foot.

It was pleasing to see so many players contributing across all areas of the ground as the team continues to build confidence and consistency each week. Keep building young Tigers.

U10 Match Report

Bangor Tigers vs Cronulla Bullsharks
24 May – Barden Ridge Oval

The Bangor Tigers U10s put in a much-improved performance on Sunday at Barden Ridge Oval, with the rain holding off and allowing for a great game of footy. After focusing on key areas at training during the week, the improvement was clear to see across the entire team.

One of the biggest highlights of the match was the Tigers’ tackling effort, which lifted significantly. The boys showed great intent and physicality, consistently putting pressure on the opposition. While we were pulled up a number of times for aggressive tackles — with interpretations seeming to vary week-to-week — it was still very encouraging to see the commitment and effort in this area.

Another strong improvement came from attacking the footy in the air, which was a focus at training. The boys showed much more confidence and intent when the ball was up for grabs, competing hard and giving themselves every chance to win possession.

Overall, it was a really solid team effort, with players working hard for each other and showing great signs of development.

Award Winners

Connor – A standout performance with plenty of possessions, along with strong kicking and tackling. Connor was consistently involved and made a big impact around the ground.
Chester – Relentless effort around the ruck, getting in low and under pressure to win possession in some hotly contested situations. A tough and determined performance.
Hayden R – Provided excellent options throughout the game and is really starting to read the play well, putting himself in the right positions consistently.
Focus for Next Week

This week, the focus will be on increasing our pace with the footy, particularly after taking a mark or receiving a free kick. Moving the ball on more quickly will help us maintain momentum and create more scoring opportunities.

A great effort from the Tigers — keep building! 🐯👏

Auskick Round 6 - the sun managed to appear just long enough for a glorious morning in Barden Ridge!

Our auskickers took on Ramsgate with our u5s and u6s being mixed together and split into 3 teams. This meant a bit of a mismatch in size, but in typical Tiger spirit, we never gave up!
It's wonderful to see everyone working together and our skills improving.
Congratulations to all our award winners 🐯

U10 Match Report
Bangor Tigers vs Cronulla Whitesharks
17 May – Gwawley Oval
The Bangor Tigers U10s put in another strong performance on Sunday at Gwawley Oval, taking on a red-hot Cronulla Whitesharks side. Despite the tough opposition, the boys showed great determination, teamwork, and continued improvement week on week.
From the outset, it was clear Cronulla would provide a serious challenge, but the Tigers rose to the occasion with a solid all-round effort. The team worked hard across the ground, supporting each other and competing well at every contest. Their effort and attitude were outstanding, and it’s great to see the steady progress being made as the season unfolds.
A major highlight of the match came with some fantastic team play, where the boys linked up for four to five marks in a row, moving the ball cleanly and efficiently up the field. It was a great example of their growing confidence and willingness to work together – exactly the kind of footy we want to see.
Award Winners

Manny – A relentless performance all game. Manny’s tackling pressure was outstanding, his positioning was spot on, and he was consistently first to the ball. A terrific effort.
Blake – Provided a strong option up the field and worked tirelessly to get involved. Blake was often first to the ball and played an important role around the ground.
Hayden – Brought great energy and intensity to the match. Hayden was fired up, laid some strong tackles, and showed excellent aggression – fantastic to see.

Focus for Next Week
As we continue to build, this week’s focus will be on attacking the footy when it’s in the air. With the boys already showing great teamwork and commitment, this next step will help take their game even further.
Overall, another pleasing performance from the Tigers – keep up the great work! 🐯👏
