CLAY MEETS CODE
Meet Clay Dance Studio 𖦹 Sculptural Ceramics & Vases, a Footscray based husband-and-wife creative duo turning an ancient material into something wonderfully unexpected.

Serge & Bek combine Bek’s background in floristry with Serge’s digital design and programming skills to create sculptural porcelain vases using 3D-printing technology. Each piece starts as a sketch, then is 3D-modelled, printed with fine porcelain clay, hand-finished, glazed and kiln-fired.

The result? Precise, complex shapes that would be close to impossible to create by hand. The designs are stunning with flowers and just as beautiful without.

We love seeing local creatives bringing fresh ideas to Footscray, and we can’t wait to have Clay Dance Studio join us this Sunday at Slow Foodscray!

Say bonjour to MARO, joining us at Edgewater Market with a seriously delicious lineup of hand-crafted French pastries and viennoiseries.

Inspired by travels through France, Maro brings authentic French technique together with creative flavours influenced by culture and travels around the globe.

Think pain au chocolat, pain suisse, kouign amann, Dubai chocolate croissants, vanilla flan parisien, honey joy danishes and more.

Every pastry is prepared and baked by hand, with plenty of passion, precision and a little bit of French flair.

Swing past this Saurday and pick up a decadent sweat treat or two.

Slow Foodscray kicked off with a bang, and the message from locals was loud and clear: give us more!

So, we’re back for round two this Sunday 4 October.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to our launch, supported our traders, ate, drank, danced, shopped and helped make it such a spectacular success. Seeing so many locals, and plenty of people from further afield, getting behind Slow Foodscray was pretty special.

This Sunday, some familiar faces will be back, alongside plenty of new ones to discover. We will be publishing our line-up this Thursday evening, in the meantime enjoy these highlight photos from the launch event.

🇵🇭FILIPINO STREET EATS COMING TO EDGEWATER
Get ready for a taste of the Philippines, with sweet, savoury and seriously good street food coming your way this Saturday.

From the grill, BunBites will be serving up pork and chicken barbecue skewers and Filipino empanadas, alongside their cookies with delicious cream cheese filling, and more!

Bun Bites started with a love of food, family and sharing, from cakes at birthdays to cookies that introduced friends to the unmistakable flavour of ube. 💜

Then came the BBQ and empanadas and other hot food made for sharing, gathering around the table. It’s Filipino food with a simple philosophy: if you love someone, you feed them.

Please join us in giving Bun Bites a warm Edgewater welcome this Saturday.

Cobb Lane is pretty much synonymous with excellent baked goods, and we’re lucky to have this crew as a permanent part of our Slow Food markets.

They’ve been indulging our shoppers with their beautiful sourdough, fruit loaf, flaky croissants, tarts, pretzels and plenty more deliciousness for years.

So, if you’re planning for a delicious long weekend, consider this your sign to stock up. Because a long weekend without excellent bread and pastries is really just a regular weekend.
