🎗️ This Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Maddie’s Vision would like to send our love and support to every child and family impacted by childhood cancer, and acknowledge all those working tirelessly to improve care, treatment and outcomes.

Children living with Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes can face an increased risk of developing cancer, including Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) and Acute Myeloid Leukaemia (AML).

Maddie’s Vision is committed to fostering the next generation of clinical leaders who will continue advancing care and improving outcomes for those affected by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes and childhood cancer.

And while we work towards better outcomes for the future, we continue to stand beside patients and families navigating Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes today. 💜

💜 Last week, our dedicated Tele-Support Service Nurse Mei Ling Yeh had the opportunity to attend the Australia and New Zealand Transplant & Cellular Therapies (ANZTCT) Annual Scientific Meeting at the MCG in Melbourne.

Mei Ling presented a scientific poster showcasing the impact of our Tele-Support Service through a five-year case study following the journey of a family supported by Maddie’s Vision across diagnosis, haematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) and survivorship.

It was a valuable opportunity to demonstrate the impact of our National Support Services to leading clinicians, researchers and healthcare professionals, and highlight the important role dedicated, ongoing care can play throughout the patient journey.

We’re incredibly proud to see our nurses contributing to important clinical and research conversations, bringing the experiences of Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome patients and families into these discussions and helping strengthen understanding of their needs.

Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision is delivering a national Educational Outreach Project, supported by the Australian Government , to improve awareness, recognition and diagnosis of Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.

Healthcare professionals across Australia are invited to complete a short National Needs Assessment Survey exploring current awareness, diagnostic challenges, educational needs and preferred learning formats.

Your insights will directly inform the development of practical, evidence-based educational resources tailored to the needs of healthcare professionals and designed to improve outcomes for patients and families affected by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.

At Maddie Riewoldt’s Vision research and innovation are at the heart of our mission to create a brighter future for Australians living with Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.

This year, we’re proud to celebrate some important milestones in science and technology:

🧬 The Australian Marrow Failure Biobank released its first samples to researchers – a major milestone in Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome research which will help unlock new opportunities to accelerate breakthroughs.

🔬 Funding for three new research Fellowship recipients, supporting Australia’s next generation of Bone Marrow Failure Syndrome researchers who are committed to improving outcomes for patients.

💜 We’ve enhanced our Tele-Support Service through the implementation of Heidi Health, helping our nurses spend less time on administration and more time being present for patients and families when they need us most.

We are so grateful to the researchers, clinicians and innovators driving this progress forward, bringing us closer to better treatments and ultimately, a cure.

Rachel was invited to present on the innovation and impact of the Maddie's Vision Tele-Support Service, demonstrating how our commitment to evolving and tailoring our services is helping improve the lives of patients and families affected by Bone Marrow Failure Syndromes.
