CKP is an early years management organisation that is responsible for enrolments and service delivery at 28 kindergartens across Frankston City, the Mornington Peninsula Shire, the City of Kingston and the City of Casey. Children’s Week is coming! From 24 October to 1 November, we’re celebrating this year’s theme: “Children have the right to use their own language, celebrate their culture and practise their religion.”

At our kindergartens, our educators are planning activities that celebrate the languages, cultures and traditions every child brings with them. Every child’s background is something to be celebrated.

What does “Exceeding NQS” actually mean?

Every Victorian kindergarten and Early learning centre is independently assessed against the National Quality Standard by VECRA, the Victorian Early Childhood Regulatory Authority, across 7 quality areas. These include Educational program and practice, Children's health and safety, Physical environment, Staffing arrangements, Relationships with children, Collaborative partnerships with families and communities, Governance and leadership.

All CKP kindergartens meet the National Quality Standard, with most rated Exceeding, recognising high-quality practice embedded in everyday learning and care.

Our team at Somers Kindergarten recently achieved this across all 7 areas.

A big thank you to Paul Mercurio MP, Member for Hastings, and his team for taking the time to visit our Community Kinders Plus (CKP) kindergartens across the Hastings electorate.
We appreciate the opportunity to showcase the wonderful work happening at Hastings Kindergarten, Wallaroo Kindergarten, Tyabb Preschool, Crib Point Preschool and Somers kindergarten, to highlight the dedication, passion and commitment of our incredible educators.
It is fantastic to have our local representatives recognise the important role early childhood education plays in giving children the best possible start in life and supporting families and communities.
