Remembering Neil Smith — Life Member

Hectorville Sports & Community Club is deeply saddened by the passing of Life Member Neil Smith on 14 October 2026, aged 76.

Neil’s connection with Hectorville spanned decades. He played both junior and senior cricket and football, with his cricket playing years stretching across the 1960s, ’70s and ’80s.

As an A Grade cricket captain and coach, football chairman and committee member, major sponsor and player sponsor, Neil contributed to our club in so many ways. His Life Membership recognised a lasting commitment to the club and its people.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to Neil’s children Ben, Kate, Matt and Michelle, his grandchildren, extended family and friends.

Family, friends and club members are invited to farewell Neil:

Wednesday 28 October 2026 at 4:00pm
Berry’s Funeral Home Chapel
204 Magill Road, Norwood
Please enter the chapel carpark via Prosser Avenue.

Following the service, the wake will be held here at Hectorville Sports & Community Club, where we will gather to share memories and celebrate Neil’s life.

Thank you, Neil, for everything you gave to Hectorville. You will be warmly remembered.

Rest in peace.
