Today June 5th is World Envirnment Day. The Gums Landcare Group celebrated with Jenn Roberts MP ( Member for Hartley) and Adam in The Gums Reserve and Uncle Ivan Tiwu Copley ( Mia Fantasia-Copley ) Welcomed us to care for Land, with Patron we marvelled at the huge diversity of fungi, we acknowledged the role of invertebrates with and showcased the work done by our fabulous and dedicated volunteers to increase biodiversity in . We also showed Jenn the work done with Campbelltown City Council (SA) to mitigate erosion through the completion of recent works on the creek’s hydrology funded by Green Adelaide Over 10 years so much has been achieved by our . Let’s celebrate this 2026 World Environment Day!

We celebrated a beautiful day today with Police Credit Union volunteers working alongside The Gums Landcare Group volunteers supported by Cr John Flynn, who cooked the BBQ, from Campbelltown City Council (SA) Our collective planted shrubs, infilling where needed, spread supplied mulch and contributed to the preparation of a Native Bee Hotel. Here is a group pic with the Police Credit Union Native Bee Hotel, dedicated to the PCU staff. A fun day had by all alongside a special commemoration by Brook to her son who passed on this day.
