NSW Labor promised to create the Great Koala National Park if they won the 2023 election. They did, but since then they've stalled, lied, held sham consultations, and logged 10,000 ha of it. Now, suddenly the government has decided to keep their fossil fuel buddies happy as well, by creating a new phoney carbon offset scheme called the INFM (Improved Native Forest Management) method. This scheme lets big polluters buy carbon credits from our park so they can keep polluting elsewhere, rather than reducing their emissions.

You cannot save koalas by making climate change worse.

We want a Great Koala national park, just as promised. No tricks, no offsets, no compromises. Sign the petition today to demand the government keep its promise now!

After waiting for 11 years, we still don't have our Great Koala National Park.

The NSW Labor party promised they would create it in 2015 if they won. They didn't win, but they promised it again in 2019, and again in 2023 - and won that time.

We are still waiting.

But they have since decided to chuck in a few extras without telling us - not good extras like alloy wheels and a sunroof - but bad extras like flat tyres, expired rego, and a big old dent in the back.

In this case, the bad extras are a big fat license to pollute, in the form of carbon offsets. These will be sold to the worst polluters in NSW, and they will use them to shirk their responsibility to reduce emissions.

Would you take such a deal?

No way Premier Minns. You promised a pure and beautiful National Park. Not this lemon.

300,000 trees by 2030? Weโ€™re well on our way!

We wrapped up our final community planting day of the season with a massive group turnout! From little helpers like 5-year-old Asher to saying a warm farewell to Eliza, our incredible community showed up in full force.

Special shoutout to regular volunteers Rosie, Kel, Janine, Margaret and Dale, pictured.

You all make this possible!

Whatโ€™s next?
While tree planting is done for the year, we still need your hands in the dirt for weeding and seeding events throughout the rest of 2026.

FIVE YEARS! ๐Ÿคฉ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿจ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‘€

That's how long the crew at Clara has been joining us for team tree planting days.

In that time, 62 folks from the Bar Clara team and neighbouring venues in Melbourne have stepped out from behind the bar and into the paddock to plant a total of 4770 trees, equating to multiple new koala forests.

This is a shining example of what happens when local businesses and grassroots organisations team up with a shared vision in mind - we smash targets and rewrite the future - with smiles on our faces the whole time.

Together, we're creating a future for wild koalas.

Planting trees is one thing... But funding those trees is a whole other ballpark ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ‘€

We're often asked if our plants are donated to us, or if the government pays for them... Not quite!

Growing native seedlings is expensive work. Local nurseries can't afford to donate tens of thousands of trees to us - they're often small businesses who also need to make ends meet! We know what that's like first hand, seeing as we grow a large portion of our own plants, as well.

So, with no ongoing government funding, how do we pay for our trees PLUS all of the other necessary supplies such as tree guards, stakes, and other planting equipment?!

That's where folks like you come in. Our donors make our planting projects possible. This winter, we raised over $50,000 in twelve weeks - the most we've ever raised in such a short time! As a result, we've been able to deliver four HUGE revegetation projects (the last project is almost complete).

With our projects funded, we then need a lot of manpower to get 30,000+ trees in the ground.

We're able to do that thanks to the ongoing support of local community members and corporate teams who join us at our revegetation sites to plant thousands of trees each week throughout winter.

Now, with an all-time total of 211,953 trees planted, we're closer than ever to our ultimate target of planting 300,000 trees by 2030.

THANK YOU to everyone who's made this possible. Whether you've supported us in person or from afar - together, we're creating a future for wild koalas.

Check our our biggest and LAST revegetation project of the 2026 tree planting season!

Throughout August out team will be working hard, along with 100+ volunteers, to plant thousands of native trees across this empty paddock, creating vital koala habitat. The best part? This project is located RIGHT NEXT TO the You Yangs - home to the wild koala population that we've been researching for over a decade.

In a couple of weeks, the completion of this project will also mark the end of another successful koala tree planting season. Thank you to everyone who's made a donation to our fundraiser to make this possible.

TOGETHER we're creating a better future for koalas.

This month, we're planting thousands of native trees across this empty paddock to create vital koala habitat. The best part? This project is located RIGHT NEXT TO the You Yangs - home to the wild koala population that we've been researching for over a decade.

This is the last of four HUGE revegetation projects that we're completing over winter in 2026. All of these projects are part of our mission to plant 300,000 trees by 2030 to create a better future for wild koalas.
