Get ready for the school holidays with music, dancing and roller skating with a FREE after-school disco.

Experienced skaters will be there to support you develop skills on the skates. BYO skates and protective gear. Suitable for ages 5+. Grown ups encouraged to participate! Email us for adult skate hire requests.

Coming soon to Lara Community Centre: Intro to Auslan!
Join us for a free ‘come and try’ beginners Auslan taster class with First Hand Auslan. This class is designed for absolute beginners to Auslan, and is open to all ages.

We are also looking for expressions of interest to offer an 8 week introductory Auslan course. Contact us for more information.

This week includes a visit from Thread Together at Lara on Tuesday and an intro session on artificial intelligence at Rosewall on Thursday, thanks to Regional Libraries.

In the Cafe this week the students are serving up:
Monday: Fried Rice with Spring Rolls, and Jelly Cake for dessert
Tuesday: Beef Burritos, and Churros for dessert

Lara, what a day it was yesterday! We were humbled by the turnout of 500+ people who celebrated with us at our Open Day. We had so many great chats and heard lots of great ideas about ways the Community Centre can further strengthen what makes Lara a great place to live.

We danced, sang, ate, painted and played our way through a fun day AND raised $1000+ for the Lara CWA as an extra bonus.

We are hugely grateful to all the organisations who took part yesterday, and everyone who came along. A massive acknowledgement of the City of Greater Geelong too whose Neighbourhood House funding enabled us to put the day together, and who have been tireless in making improvements to the building in recent months.

Lara, we’re just getting started!

This National Volunteers Week, we want to acknowledge and thank our incredible volunteers who give their time, energy and care to the Rosewall community.

Last year alone, our volunteers contributed an average of 64 hours every week — an extraordinary contribution with an estimated economic value of more than $162,000.

But what can’t be measured is the impact our volunteers have on the people around them every day. The kindness, respect, positivity and encouragement they bring helps create a welcoming and supportive community for participants, staff and fellow volunteers alike.

From practical support to meaningful connection, every role matters — and we simply could not do what we do without you.

Thank you for everything you bring to Rosewall. 💛

Lots on this week!
At Rosewall, we have the Cafe serving Minestrone Soup with Sticky Date Pudding on Monday; Butter Chicken with a Jelly Slice on Tuesday.
At Lara, we have Watercolour Art on Tuesday morning (couple of spots still available) and Spring Roll Cooking on Wednesday morning (fully booked but you can add your name to the waitlist)

THEN on Saturday we throw the doors open at Lara for a big Open Day. There'll be food, kids activities, come and try sessions, music, dance - a fun, FREE day out and chance to see what we are doing at Lara & tell us what you would like to see happening.
