Our Group had a fantastic long weekend away at Brucknell Park Scout Camp.

Our theme was "The Long Fire" - highlighting the importance of community.

Over the weekend youth completed bushcraft challenges, learnt lots of different ways to light a fire, worked in Patrols to cook a 2 course meal on a campfire, explored the camp grounds, mounted a search and rescue mission for a "lost" Leader, spent an entire afternoon being "villages" and trading for resources to complete challenges, reflection around the campfire, lots of card games and ball games, and our favourite - learning what a tea towel is and how to use one!!

Our Group Leaders had fun helping at Joey's and Cubs tonight! They finished off their Aquatics badge with:
- playing games to learn about beach to water signals
- learning about different animals that live in the water and what to do if they accidentally hurt you
- Shark Wave Surfer game
- water rescue: Royal Life Saving 4 As, how to signal if you need help, how to help someone in the water

Thanks also to the Rovers for letting us check out their car project - we can't wait to see it in action at Mudbash next year!

Cubs braved the weather and cooked bread in a range of different receptacles - hot bread and jam is delicious on a cold rainy night!
