You Yangs parkrun

You Yangs parkrun is a FREE, timed, 5K, run/walk put on by the community for the community at 8am every Saturday at the You Yangs, Victoria

parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. You Yangs parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy the beautiful You Yangs and get physically active in the process. W

e want to encourage people to walk, jog or run together irrespective of their ability – this event is truly open to all and best of all it really is FREE! Taking part is easy – just register in advance by 6pm on the Friday before your first ever parkrun event. The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once! Then just set your alarm for Saturday morning and get yourself there!

Spring has sprung - will you be springing out of bed to join us tomorrow morning at You Yangs parkrun?

If you're a visitor, remember to allow enough time to find us near the Kurrajong mountain bike area car park - if you navigate to the main park entrance on Branch Rd you still have a few minutes of driving.

What a beautiful morning for parkrun. We welcomed 47 eager participants to the You Yangs, of which we had 12 first time visitors to the course. Well done to Malcolm, Scott, Carl, Daniel, Rebekah, Nicole, Alice, Renee for recording new PBs.

Thanks to our wonderful volunteers, Julie, Michelle x2, Brooke, Lorraine and John for making this morning's event run smoothly.

Lastly, we had a green Yeti hoodie left behind. It will be there next week if you are going to be back or get in touch if you wish to collect it sooner.

We are all set for tomorrow with a full roster and a lovely winter morning for parkrun. First timer welcome is 7:50am followed by full run brief and an 8am start.
Please remember to leave our carpark turning circle clear and to allow enough time for your drive in from the front gate and walk to start area.
