Jodie's Inspiration

Jodie's Inspiration was founded by Jodie McRae with the aim of raising much needed funds to help purchase medical equipment for Lismore's oncology units.

Jodie McRae was a Lismore local who was diagnosed in May 2013 with a rare aggressive form of triple negative breast cancer. After being given the all clear in December 2013 Jodie was diagnosed in September 2014 with secondary breast cancer. She lost her battle on 1 October 2016. Jodie's Inspiration Ltd continues to advance Jodie's dream of promoting the importance of early detection and raising money for local oncology units.

National Volunteer Week 2026!
We are a volunteer run, volunteer led, volunteer supported organisation that has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of equipment to our local hospitals. Thank you to all our volunteers for your wonderful service to our community through Jodie’s Inspiration!

On behalf of our Board, volunteers and everyone associated with Jodie's Inspiration, we extend our sincerest condolences to Ron, Georgie, Tim and the broader Dowell family on the passing of Jenny Dowell OAM earlier today. Jodie, our Founder, invited Jenny to be our charity's Patron back in 2016. For the past decade Jenny has supported our fundraising and awareness raising endeavours. She was a wonderful ambassador for our cause and cared profoundly about others. Like many across our community, we feel Jenny's loss deeply and commit to honouring her life and legacy by continuing to "Live Life Large!" Thank you to our wonderful community for supporting Jenny Dowell, Ron and family with so much creativity and love! Yesterday’s celebration was magnificent. Thank you so much to every artist, organiser, the Star Court Theatre team and the packed house. Jenny is much loved and yesterday’s show made that manifest!
