Our Kids Community Grants are now open

Do you care for a child with special needs or work with a community group supporting children with additional needs?

Applications for the Our Kids Community Grants are now open, with grants of up to $2,000 available to help purchase equipment and resources that improve the health and wellbeing of local children.

A special thank you to the James Frizelle Charitable Foundation for supporting this important program and helping us make a difference for families across the Northern Rivers.

Applications are open to:
• parents and guardians caring for children with special needs
• community groups supporting children with special needs or chronic illnesses

It’s June, which means it’s time to turn the Our Kids Calendar page and meet the adorable Master Theodore 💙

Theodore was born with a severe immune deficiency and required a bone marrow transplant. He now needs daily medication and weekly injections, and his parents are very mindful about where they take him when they are out and about to keep him safe and well. He is doing really well now and absolutely loves Miss Rachel on YouTube.

All the children featured in the Our Kids Calendar have spent time in the Children’s Ward or Special Care Nursery at Lismore Base Hospital.

The Northern Rivers community has endured more hardship than most, but through it all, locals have grown a willingness to help others through tough times and that spirit is at the heart of charity Our Kids, celebrating 25 years of helping young patients.

Their support comes from the heart. Gary and Mariska’s son spent time in the Special Care Nursery and, more recently, their grandson – born at just 495 grams – spent months in hospital following the floods.
