MS Society SA & NT

MS Society SA & NT Established in 1964 to provide service and support to people living with Multiple Sclerosis. Hope to see you there!

We have set up a private group called ‘My Society’ for members of the Multiple Sclerosis Society of SA & NT only. We hope this will work as a private place to chat and discuss anything you like and to connect with others. As it’s a private group, you will need to click the ‘request to join’ button. https://www.facebook.com/groups/MySocietySANT/

For World MS Day, our team took a moment to step out, connect and reflect. Seeing landmarks across the city lit up in red was a powerful visual reminder of the global MS community and a moment of solidarity.

We also hosted a morning tea to celebrate Clients and the wider neuro community. Every conversation and connection we had was a powerful reminder of exactly why we do the work we do. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate❤️

A huge shoutout to Trish, one of the peer support leaders, who baked splendid cupcakes featuring red MS chocolate ribbons🧁

MS Society SA & NT is deeply saddened to hear of Neale Daniher's passing.

Neale's courageous fight and tireless advocacy against motor neurone disease was truly inspiring. Through years of dedication to fundraising and research, he became a leading force in Australia’s search for a cure. Our thoughts and sympathies are with Neale’s family and the wider MND community during this time 💙

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Neale Daniher AO.

Neale was a true MND warrior — courageous, determined and relentless in his fight against this devastating disease. Over 10 years ago he co-founded what would become FightMND, creating a movement that has invested over $117 million in MND research. His vision and tireless efforts have accelerated progress towards a cure and given hope to thousands of families affected by MND.

Through his advocacy, leadership and unshakable spirit, Neale brought MND into the national conversation, ensuring many more Australians understand its impact. His extraordinary legacy was fittingly recognised when he was named the 2025 Australian of the Year.

On behalf of MND Australia, we extend our heartfelt condolences to Neale’s family, friends, and the entire FightMND community. His passing is a profound loss, not only for those who knew him personally, but for every Australian whose life has been touched by MND.

Vale Neale — Australia has lost a hero.

On the surface, 2022 looked like any other year for Adele – a busy working life and a social calendar bursting at the seams ✨ Then one otherwise ordinary night, she felt the sudden and terrifying sensation of the entire right side of her body spasm and stop functioning.

When she finally found an answer to her multiple sclerosis symptoms, Adele connected with the MS Society SA & NT, describing their invaluable help in an uncertain time ❤️
“I wouldn’t know what to do without the MS Society. When they went into administration I fell into a deep pit. It felt like being diagnosed all over again," she states.

Now working with sister society MSWA to reshape and rebuild the MS Society SA & NT so that Clients in SA and the NT can receive the neurological support they need and deserve.
