Today is the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development (21st May)! 🌏
It is more important than ever to protect different cultures and ways of life.
At HomePlace, we are lucky that more than half of our staff have come from other countries. ✈️
We also recognise how hard it can be for people living with disability, and their families and supporters, from different cultures to find the supports and services they need to live big, rich lives.
We always focus on truly getting to know each person we support. 💬
By working together with people living with disability and their supporters, we make sure that we respect how each person chooses to live their life and the supports they might have from other providers. 🤝
To take their rightful place at the heart of community, people living with disability from all cultures must be able to choose a support team that helps them reach their goals. 💜 💚
[Image Description: A pale yellow tile graphic with big black text on the top left that reads ‘World Day for Cultural Diversity’. The smaller dark green text underneath reads ‘21st May 2026’. On the right, is an illustration of a male support worker, with dark skin and short black hair holding up a book, and a man, with light skin and black hair, who uses a wheelchair. They are both smiling, wearing purple shirts, and have a white speech bubble above them. The dark purple text above the support worker reads ‘A’, while the text above the man with disability reads ‘文’, which is a Chinese language character. An image of Planet Earth in light and dark shades of green is behind them. The HomePlace logo is in the bottom left corner and has a green sun and dark purple text that reads ‘HomePlace Disability Support’.]
