Kiama Swim Club attended the Swimming NSW 2026 Awards over the weekend as we were a finalist in the Regional Club of the year category. Congratulations to all four finalists and to Wagga Wagga Swim Club who took out this award 👏🏻

We were delighted that KSC’s own technical official, John Williams was the recipient of the Services to Officiating Award. It is wonderful that your hard work and dedication to the sport was recognised and appreciated.

Congratulations to all 2026 Swimming NSW Award winners and finalists, and to the Clubs, Areas, families, coaches, officials, staff and volunteers for their achievements.

Is your child ready for their upcoming school swimming carnival?

If they haven’t competed before, a little practice in a relaxed, no-pressure environment can make a huge difference to their confidence!

Joining our Friday night Pointscore competition and/or participating in a few local development carnivals gives swimmers the chance to experience racing, learn how it all works and build confidence before their big school carnival.

It’s all about having fun, giving it a go and helping young swimmers feel comfortable behind the blocks. 💙

Come along, have some fun and give them the confidence to dive into their school carnival! 🏊‍♂️🏅

AUSTRALIAN SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIPS

What a week it’s been for our Kiama Swim Club swimmer Trae, hitting the pool at the Australian Short Course Championships! 🇦🇺

Trae has been putting together some fantastic swims and representing Kiama with plenty of pride.

🔥 50m Butterfly
• 12th in the Open division
• 4th – 17 Years & Under

🔥 50m Freestyle
• 25th in the Open division
• PB! 👏

🔥 100m Backstroke
• PB – 1:06
• Qualified 10th for tonight’s final

Tonight’s 100m Backstroke final is a particularly exciting one! Trae is one of only three 17 & Under swimmers in the final, which means he is guaranteed an age-group medal under the championship’s medal allocation rules shown below. 🥇🥈🥉

What an achievement competing against Australia’s best!

And he’s not finished yet… 100m Freestyle tomorrow! 💪🏊‍♂️

We’ll be cheering you on all the way, Trae. Swim fast, enjoy the moment and good luck!

🏊 Swim. Race. Belong.

For Kiama kids who love swimming and are curious about racing, Kiama Swim Club is helping make that first step into competition a little less daunting.

The club’s Friday night Pointscore gives young swimmers the chance to experience racing in a supportive, low-pressure environment, before progressing to larger carnivals if they choose.

And it’s been a big year for the club, with 12 young swimmers attending their first carnivals, strong results across regional, state and national competitions, and Kiama named a finalist for the NSW Swimming Regional Club of the Year award.

But club president Nathan Haythorpe says it’s about much more than results — it’s about confidence, friendships, teamwork and giving swimmers a place to belong.
