Kensington Neighbourhood House is a community-managed charity, located at 89 McCracken St, Kensington. We work within a community development framework, looking to create community connections, advance mental health outcomes and prevent social isolation of people living and working in our area. We provide opportunities for social connection through a range of regular, low-cost activities and group

s, various volunteering roles, opportunities to be in the company of others, adult education, training opportunities and more.

Kensington Neighbourhood House was established in 1975. Our purpose is to advance social and public welfare by advancing mental health and preventing social isolation and providing a physical location where we support individuals to undertake activities, or work on projects, in the company of others.

We're getting our own writers' festival! This festival has been brought together by book loving FlemKen locals. They are aiming to: highlight and celebrate the incredible literary talent in our community; create opportunities for us to come together to think about creative endeavours and important issues; and facilitate accessible and creative opportunities for our young people. Check out the program at https://www.flemkenwritersfestival.org/

One of our all time favourite people is retiring! Many of you will remember Carolyn from her 16 years here at our house. She built this organisation into the thriving place it is today and has continued to work tirelessly in our community. Total legend. Enjoy the adventures ahead! X###

After more than a year leading The Venny, our CEO Carolyn Webster is moving on and we want to take a moment to properly acknowledge what she has built.

Carolyn came to the role having already given years of her time as a volunteer. Carolyn leaves behind a genuinely stronger organisation. She overhauled our systems and processes, created foundations that will serve this community for years to come, and led her team with real care and warmth.

On behalf of the board, we want to acknowledge the enormous contribution Carolyn has made to The Venny. We are sad to see her go and deeply grateful for everything she has given this organisation. We wish her every success in what comes next.
