The Flemington People's Pantry Peoples Pantry - Wednesdays 1.30pm We seek ways of serving our locality and society for the common good.

The Newmarket Baptist Church is a group of people committed to journeys of discovering what following Jesus means in the emerging culture of today’s Australia. We share a common life of prayer, food, learning and service that is participatory, supportive of creativity, not afraid of questions, and connected to the realities of our lives. We are a church with over 125 years of local engagement within the diverse inner city Melbourne neighbourhood of Flemington/Newmarket/Kensington with an emphasis on youth & families, food and the celebration of diverse cultures. We run Flemington People's Pantry a food rescue and redistribution program for local people seeking to celebrate the values of welcome, work, worship; food, friendship and faith…

Newmarket Baptist Church regularly meets at 12 Brighton Street, Flemington, Victoria 3031

Usual Service Time: 5pm Sunday

Posting this with no small measure of irony to remember the legacy of recently deceased farmer, poet, theologian Wendell Berry. Thankful for his influence on so much of our community food sharing thinking, prayers and practices.

A gentle reminder from Wendell Berry to those of us on FB right now ...

In this weeks ‘Pantry Post - Mid Year Impact Report’, we share more of the hard data measures for each of the five ingredients of the simple (age-old, common, human, multi-faith) recipe which we call ‘Our Pantry Salad’… 🛍️ 🛒 🥗 Of course a short term period of growth of 15% plus is challenging for any organisation let alone one whose revenue is based on generosity and donations. At this End of Financial Year we wanted to remind you that donations to Peoples Pantry are tax deductible and help’s us plan for the months ahead.

Thanks for your part in the impact of the numbers shared here.
