T2 Suburb Crawl!

Every suburb has a story. So this Term 2, we will be exploring the *T2!* 🤣

Join **ASA, RailSoc and WestSoc** as we travel across Sydney’s rail network, explore communities shaped by migration, culture and history, and experience the diversity that makes this city feel like home to so many people. Come with us for the local food and landmarks!

If you’re a train enthusiast, a foodie, or someone who simply want to know more about the city you call home, this event is for you 💛

*Meet up Locations* 📍
Group 1: Starting at Auburn Station, Rawson St Side, 12PM
Group 2: Starting at Strathfield Square (use Albert St exit at Strathfield Station), 12PM
Group 3: Starting at Burwood, corner of Railway Parade and Burwood Rd (Burwood Mural on Google Maps), 12PM

We expect to spend about an hour exploring each suburb, before we all meet back up at Parramatta Park around 3-4pm.

Group 1: Auburn -> Strathfield -> Burwood -> Parramatta
Group 2: Strathfield -> Burwood -> Auburn -> Parramatta
Group 3: Burwood -> Auburn -> Strathfield -> Parramatta

Trams After Dark - Tomorrow!

Good evening RailSoc!

This is your one day reminder that tomorrow afternoon, we will be embarking from Central to make our yearly visit to Trams After Dark, hosted by the Sydney Tramway Museum! Expect to see and ride a wide range of heritage buses and trams, and learn about the former glory of the Southern Hemisphere’s largest tram network.

Despite the Variotram not being able to make it this year, we hope you can! Purchase your tickets on Rubric today, because **we won’t be able to take any latecomers once we’re at the museum.**

Reminder: If you ordered a member or concession ticket, please bring your Student ID card tomorrow!

Good evening Railsoc!

We are visiting the Sydney Tramway Museum again on the 20th of June. However, unlike last year, it will be at nighttime 🌃. There will be plenty of free time at the museum as well as a vintage tram 🚊 ride and bus 🚌 ride.

What else is there to say? If you are a night owl 🦉 (a majority of this society) and are interested in learning about Sydney's surprisingly-rich tramway heritage, this is a great opportunity to do so.

Tickets are available for purchase on Rubric. The entry fee is $12 for Railsoc members, $13.5 for associate members with concession and $15 for associate members.

Good Evening Railsoc!

Are you already burnt out in the first week of the term? Railsoc is here to rekindle your flame 🔥. Our welcome night is this Friday, with the theme being "Hot Takes" 🌶️.

Submit your most controversial transport-related 🚆 opinions to the Google form linked below and prepare to defend your questionable ideas 🥀. (If you think Sydney should replace all of its trains with buses, this is definitely the event for you.) Submissions close at 11:59PM on Thursday, Week 1.

Additionally, we will be premiering Railsoc's first officially-sanctioned short film 📹, The Last Train Home. Come along if you want to watch it in full UNSW classroom 📽️ quality!

Be there or your local train line will be ripped up to build a motorway. 🛣️
