Nominations are now open for the Arc PGC Research Awards 2026.

The awards recognise outstanding contributions to the UNSW HDR community across three categories:

• Research Student Award
• Research Supervisor Award
• Professional Staff Award

HDR students, supervisors and professional staff at UNSW Canberra are encouraged to nominate eligible members of the Faculty community.

Nomination deadline: Monday, 31 August 2026
Winner announcement and ceremony: Friday, 20 November 2026, 4–6 pm at Roundhouse UNSW, featuring VIP guests from UNSW Graduate Research School and other distinguished guests.

The UNSW Postgraduate Council (PGC) supports the statement released by the International Students Representative Council of Australia (ISRC) regarding the recent increases to Student Visa and Temporary Graduate Visa application charges.

International students make significant financial, academic and personal commitments when choosing to study in Australia. Policy changes that are introduced with limited notice and without meaningful consultation create uncertainty for both current and prospective students.

As the representative body for postgraduate students at UNSW, PGC supports calls for greater transparency, consultation and policy stability to ensure Australia remains a fair, welcoming and globally competitive study destination.

We encourage our community to read the full ISRC statement to better understand these recent developments and their potential implications for international students.
