We’re looking for an experienced, values-led Manager to lead our Counselling, Casework, and Education & Training team.

In this role, you’ll:
✔ Lead a multidisciplinary team providing clinical supervision & mentoring
✔ Manage a small caseload supporting vulnerable youth
✔ Help shape impactful programs across the Blue Mountains
✔ Work across Springwood, Katoomba & the wider community

This is a senior role suited to someone with strong leadership experience, clinical supervision skills, and a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people.

Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Mountains Youth Services Team (MYST) is looking for a Youth Support Case Worker to join our Springwood & Katoomba teams!
Work with 12–24-year-olds through mentoring, outreach, programs, and casework — helping them build life skills, wellbeing, and strong community connections.

What you’ll do:
✅ Mentor young people in the community and schools
✅ Support access to education, health, and employment opportunities
✅ Create and deliver group programs that build skills and positive peer relations
✅ Maintain safe, inclusive spaces
✅ Collaborate with schools, services, and community groups

Essentials; We’re looking for someone with:
1. Youth Work, Social Work, or related qualifications
2. 1 year minimum experience supporting young people facing challenges
3. Strong communication, problem-solving, and advocacy skills
4. A passion for empowering young people

🌟 FREE Pool Day at Prince Alfred Park Pool– January 6th 2026 (Ages 13–17) 🌟

MYST is collaborating with Girls & Boys Brigade to host a pool day in the city on the 6th of January! It is being held Prince Alfred Park Pool, with MYST supplying transport to and from our Springwood Centre. The trip is FREE and designed for young people aged 13–17 and will be running from 10AM – 4:30PM. 🙌

✨ What to bring: Sun smart swimwear, towel, hat, sunscreen, change of clothes and good energy!

🤝 Activities Available: Swimming and basketball.

🚌 Transport: Meet at Springwood Youth Centre from 9:45AM, we are aiming to leave at 10AM. Pickup from Springwood Youth Centre at 4:30PM

✨After-Pool Dumplings!: An exciting addition is to experience dumplings in Sydney’s Chinatown (Haymarket). We are aiming to travel via light rail so please bring along an opal card, the light rail trip is estimated to cost just under $4 each way so you will need to have the funds on your card. 🌟 FREE Outdoor Explore – January Adventures (Ages 12–17) 🌟
We’re kicking off 2026 with a bunch of summer-time favourites! Come join us for hiking out to wild swimming spots, canoeing & capsizing, and stretching your comfort zone in abseiling - these are all FREE and designed for young people aged 12–17. 🙌🌿💦

Over 17 years old?
Please reach out we would love to hear from you and run adventures open to 18 to 25 years!

We have a guest attending our usual Thursday drop-in: Naomi Oliver. Naomi is a Blue Mountains-based artist and 2024 Lumen Prize finalist whose practice spans experimental digital video and animation, sound, and mixed-media art.

⭐ Glitch Art Collage Workshop - Create a collage design and watch it come to life on Springwood’s new parklet. ⭐

In this 2-hour workshop you’ll get to cut, rip, and remix old magazines, books and photos to create your own anything-goes, glitch-style collages.

Led by glitch artist Naomi Oliver, you’ll learn how to turn ‘mistakes’ into art and make something totally unexpected and unique. No art skills needed, just your imagination and sense of fun!

All materials will be provided but you’re welcome to bring your own old magazines, photos or paper ephemera to work with if you want.
