WORKSHOP FACILITATOR NEEDED FOR THIS SATURDAY!

KRAG is launching Katoomba's new community-run creative space this Saturday, but one of our workshop facilitators has cancelled due to work commitments. 😱

So we're looking for a local creative to run a workshop this Saturday May 16, 3 - 5pm @ The Edge Cinema.
It's a paid gig. $ Negotiable.

What is The Space?
It's a community-run art gallery, workshop space, and small event space. It's being set up by KRAG (Katoomba Regeneration Action Group), and is made possible by generous sponsorship from Bendigo Bank.

Who is KRAG?
We are a group of local volunteers dedicated to bringing more colour and life to Ktown.

CALLING ALL LOCAL ARTISTS!
It's time to submit your artwork for the inaugural exhibition at The Space @ The Edge.
'SPACE 1.0' will feature 2D wall hanging works and 3D outdoor works by Blue mountains artists from Sat May 16 to Fri July 10.
New and emerging artists are especially encouraged to apply.

ABOUT THE SPACE:
The Space is a volunteer-run creative space that encourages community to gather, create, exhibit, and perform.
It's run by KRAG (Katoomba Regeneration Action Group), and is made possible by generous sponsorship from the Katoomba branch of Bendigo Bank, and with the assistance of management of The Edge Cinema.
The Space is dedicated to the late great local creative legend John Ellison.

LAUNCH:
The launch is happening Saturday May 16 from 3pm to 5pm at The Edge Cinema.
Welcome to Country by Uncle Colin Locke.
Official Opening by John Ellison's partner Lyn Harrison and his sister Robyn Nolan.
Fantastic local art for sale, live music, and free workshops.

THE SPACE @ The Edge

KRAG volunteers have started work on setting up THE SPACE at The Edge Cinema.

What is THE SPACE?
It's YOUR exhibition space, YOUR workshop space, YOUR performance space, YOUR collaboration space, YOUR safe space.
It's a creative space run BY the local creative community FOR the local creative community.
It's a SPACE where local creatives of every kind can GATHER and CREATE and EXHIBIT and PERFORM without the usual financial constraints of private spaces and bureaucratic constraints of public spaces.

HOW is it Possible?
Thanks to $5,000 sponsorship from the Katoomba branch of BENDIGO BANK.
Thanks also to the managament of THE EDGE CINEMA.
And thanks to the dedicated volunteers of KRAG (Katoomba Regeneration Action Group).

WHEN is it opening?
Saturday April 18 @ 3pm.

KTOWN's XMAS TREE IS BACK

KRAG's volunteers have spent the last couple of weeks fixing the KCCC's tree after vandals seriously damaged it a few years ago.
And yesterday, we got it up it in Carrington Place.

Huge thanks to KRAG volunteers and Carrington Hotel staff for coming together to make it happen.
Thanks also to BMCC (Blue Mountains City Council) and KCCC (Katoomba Chamber of Commerce & Community) for funding repairs on the tree and decorations on Katoomba St.

Sure... it's not the most beautiful tree... but it has character.
So it's fit for a town full of characters!

And as we're a town full of creatives, we're inviting you to add your own creative touch to the tree (BYO wire to attach your creation).

Our plan for next year is to make the tree 100% plastic-free and community-created.
