🧡💰 Tax Time Reminder – Support Your Community & Get Organised 💰🧡
As we head towards the end of the financial year, now is a great time to gather your receipts, organise your paperwork, and make sure you're ready for tax season.
Many Australians don't realise that donations made to eligible Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) charities can often be claimed as a tax deduction. While Goodna Street Life is a community page rather than a DGR charity itself, many local charities and organisations doing incredible work in our communities are.
📂 Tax Time Checklist:
✅ Gather donation receipts
✅ Check your work-related expense records
✅ Organise volunteer and community records
✅ Review any charitable giving throughout the year
✅ Ensure your financial records are up to date
Why does this matter?
Every year, generous Australians donate millions of dollars to charities that provide:
🏠 Homelessness support
🍲 Food relief
👕 Clothing assistance
🧡 Mental health support
👨👩👧👦 Family services
🐾 Animal welfare
🌏 Community programs

Those donations help organisations continue their work while potentially providing tax benefits to donors.Even if you can't donate money, you can still make a difference by:
🤝 Volunteering your time 📦 Donating goods 📢 Sharing charity fundraisers
💡 Offering skills and expertise ❤️ Supporting local community initiatives
Tax time is also a good opportunity to reflect on the causes that matter most to you and the impact community organisations have on the lives of everyday Australians.
Together, small acts of generosity create stronger communities.
🧡 Support local. 🧡 Keep good records. 🧡 Help where you can. 🧡 Every contribution counts.
You could also check with the Australian Taxation Office or their tax professional regarding what donations are eligible to be claimed. 📊🧡
