💜💚 Celebrating Children’s Week at WCSSI! 💚💜
Today, we’re celebrating Children’s Week with a fun-filled Messy Play event at The Pink Door! 🎨🖐️ A wonderful opportunity for little ones to play, explore, create and connect in a safe, welcoming environment.
But that’s not all! We’re excited to announce that in mid-November, our new Youth and Child Specialist will commence, delivering our Little Steps, Safe Places program. 🌱
This important initiative will support children and young people staying in our refuge and those accessing our Mobile Support Program, recognising that children are not just witnesses to domestic and family violence (DFV) — they are impacted by it too.
💜 Why early intervention matters
Children who experience or witness domestic and family violence can be affected in many ways, including their emotional wellbeing, development, relationships and sense of safety. With the right support, early intervention can help children process their experiences, build resilience, strengthen connections and begin their journey towards healing.
At WCSSI, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, heard, supported and valued. Through Little Steps, Safe Places, we are committed to creating opportunities for children and young people to thrive, not just survive.
