There were SO many fantastic entries in cookery, dressmaking, floral art, art, knitting & crochet. Our members cleaned up with quite a few First and Second places across the sections - I believe we counted 23 in total! Well done ladies! ๐Ÿ†
Many of these will now go on to compete at State level - good luck everyone!

A few of our members walked up to our brand new Fraser Coast Libraries / Fraser Coast Regional Council Library today and we were absolutely blown away! ๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿข
What an incredible addition to our area - much more than just books (which there are PLENTY of!), the new library features a โ€œMaker Spaceโ€ which includes sewing machines, an over locker, embroidery machine, Cricut machines, 3D printing and more - All available for anyone with a library membership. ๐Ÿงต๐ŸŽจ
There are various areas for study, meetings, and places to read a good book. The childrenโ€™s area is amazing and so well designed for little people!

Today one of our wonderful members presented the branch with something special ๐Ÿ’™
Some of you may know that our little building was once upon a time the Craignish school house.
Donna, who is a born & bred local, and also member of the Hervey Bay Historical Village & Museum, presented us with this set of photos to display in our rooms. Thank you so much Donna, what a great thing to be able to have in our hall to share the history of the building with members & guests. We love it!

Photos:
1. The Craignish State School as it stood In Craignish.
2. The last group of children attending when the school closed. (Which includes one of our current members, Maxine!)
3. The school on a truck being moved to Torquay Rd, Pialba.
4. Where the old school stands proudly today as our much loved QCWA Pt. Vernon Pialba.

THANK YOU Hervey Bay RSL ๐Ÿคฉ
We are so grateful that the RSL awarded us a grant to purchase a branch printer and laptop. This will be so helpful to our committee members who currently use their own resources. The grant also includes room hire costs to host a fundraiser in a few months time at The Clubhouse Hervey Bay, enabling us to put all profits to use in the community.
Thank you once again RSL!
