Today, we had the pleasure of hosting a small seminar and planning session in preparation for the upcoming opening of the Australian South West Youth Association Hub.

It was a productive and inspiring gathering where ideas were shared, goals were discussed, and our team came together to strengthen the vision we have for the future of our community. This hub will serve as a safe, welcoming, and empowering space for young people to connect, learn, grow, and make a positive impact.

We are incredibly excited about what lies ahead and grateful to everyone who attended, contributed their ideas, and continues to support our mission. This is just the beginning of something truly special for our youth and the wider community.

Stay tuned for more updates as we prepare to officially open the doors to the Australian South West Youth Association Hub. The future is bright, and we look forward to building it together.

Tonight was more than just a dinner, it was a celebration of friendship, teamwork, and appreciation.

Hosted by our Vice President, Sahra Omar, our team came together at Criniti’s for a wonderful evening of connection, laughter, and gratitude. It was fantastic to spend quality time with Sahra, Abdi, Giota, Ali, and Faysal, strengthening the bonds that make the Australian South West Youth Association such a special community.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of gifts by our President and Vice President to our dedicated volunteers. This small gesture was a token of our sincere appreciation for the countless hours, commitment, and passion they bring to serving our community.

Our volunteers are the backbone of everything we do. Their willingness to give their time, support others, and contribute to meaningful initiatives is what allows our association to continue making a positive impact. Their efforts often happen behind the scenes, but they never go unnoticed.

Tonight reminded us that when people come together with a shared purpose, great things can be achieved. We are proud of the strong relationships we continue to build and grateful for every volunteer who helps make our vision a reality.

To all our volunteers: thank you for your dedication, kindness, and unwavering support. We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.

❤️ Together we serve. Together we grow. Together we make a difference.

Today, I had the privilege of attending the Bell St Mall Multicultural Eid Celebration alongside Australian South West Youth Association Vice President, Sahra Omar, while representing the Bell St Mall Traders Association in my role as Vice President. It was an honour to deliver a speech on behalf of the Committee and be part of such a meaningful community event.

It was wonderful to see families, community members, local businesses, and leaders come together to celebrate Eid and the diversity that makes our community so special. Events like these remind us of the importance of unity, cultural understanding, and supporting one another.

A sincere thank you to Banyule City Council, Alison Champion Champion, Councillor Cr Mary O'Kane - Olympia Ward, Victoria Police, our event partners, volunteers, and everyone who worked behind the scenes to make this celebration possible. A special thank you to Stavros for his leadership, dedication, and hard work in bringing this event together, and to the traders of Bell St Mall for their ongoing support and commitment to our community.

On behalf of the Australian South West Youth Association, Sahra Omar and I were proud to be part of a celebration that brought people from all backgrounds together in a spirit of friendship, respect, and community. We look forward to continuing to support initiatives that strengthen community connections and create opportunities for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success.

Today, representatives of the Australian South West Youth Association had the privilege of meeting with respected community elder General Mohamed Atosh alongside Vice President Zahra Omar. It was a valuable opportunity to share experiences, discuss community development, and learn from the wisdom and leadership of those who have dedicated their lives to serving others.

At ASWYA, we believe that empowering young people starts with connecting them to the knowledge, values, and experiences of the generations that came before them. By fostering these conversations, we continue to strengthen community ties, inspire future leaders, and work towards a more united and empowered community.

Together, we learn. Together, we grow. Together, we build a brighter future.

Today, as President of the Australian South West Youth Association (ASWYA), I had the opportunity to attend a valuable youth seminar alongside members of our team, hosted by Victoria Police.

The seminar focused on important discussions surrounding young people, community engagement, leadership, safety, and the role that youth can play in creating positive change within our communities. It was an excellent opportunity to learn, share ideas, and engage in meaningful conversations with police and other community representatives.

At ASWYA, we believe that empowering young people starts with education, dialogue, and creating spaces where youth feel heard and supported. Events like these help build understanding, strengthen community connections, and inspire the next generation of leaders.

I am proud of my team for their active participation and commitment to representing our community with professionalism and enthusiasm. We look forward to continuing to engage in opportunities that help our young people grow, develop, and succeed.

A sincere thank you to Victoria Police and all organisers for delivering an informative and engaging seminar. Together, through collaboration and understanding, we can continue building stronger and more connected communities.

Last night was a special one.

The Australian South West Youth Association proudly hosted a successful Eid Night, bringing together members of our community to celebrate, connect, and create lasting memories. It was inspiring to see so many new faces join us alongside familiar ones, all coming together in the spirit of unity, culture, and community.

As an organisation representing the South West State, we remain committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming space for everyone. The energy, support, and turnout we witnessed last night are a reminder of what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared vision.

This is only the beginning. We will continue to grow, continue to build, and continue to create opportunities that bring people together. Every event, every conversation, and every new face strengthens our community and motivates us to keep moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and contributed to making the night such a success. We look forward to sharing many more milestones with you in the future.

Australian Southwest Youth Association was honoured to support families in Baidoa, Somalia by helping provide basic necessities such as clean water and essential supplies to those who needed it most.

For many of us, water and daily essentials can feel like something simple, but for others, they mean comfort, dignity and survival. This support was about more than just providing necessities. It was about showing families that they are remembered, cared for and not alone.

None of this would have been possible without the generous donations and support given through Australian Southwest Youth Association. Every contribution helped bring relief to families and made a real difference in their daily lives.

May Allah reward everyone who donated, supported and helped make this possible.

This Eid al-Adha, Australian Southwest Youth Association had the honour of supporting families in Baidoa, Somalia by helping provide lamb meat so they could celebrate Eid with dignity, comfort and joy.

Eid is a time of sacrifice, gratitude and caring for others. Through the support and donations given to our organisation, we were able to help families put food on the table and share a meaningful Eid meal with their loved ones.

A simple act of giving can mean so much to a family in need. We are grateful to everyone who contributed, donated and supported this effort. Because of you, families in Baidoa were able to enjoy this blessed day with full hearts and a proper meal.

May Allah reward everyone involved and accept it from us all.
