💜 Women’s Health: From Evidence to Action 💜
SI Brisbane is proud to share that the Australian Senate’s Select Committee on Women’s Health has published our submission, prepared on behalf of the Soroptimist International South East Asia Pacific (SISEAP) Federation.
Women’s health is not simply a healthcare issue. It is fundamental to women’s equality, dignity, wellbeing and economic participation.
Our submission highlights the need for more responsive, accessible and equitable healthcare across the life course, including postpartum recovery, reproductive healthcare, chronic pain and delayed diagnosis, affordability, rural and remote access, disability inclusion and the persistent impact of gender bias in healthcare.
We believe women’s experiences must inform the evidence, shape policy and drive meaningful improvements in health outcomes.
🌏 From local advocacy to regional and global action
Our contribution connects with Soroptimist International South East Asia Pacific (SISEAP)’s Federation Health Campaign, “Her Health, Our Wealth”, which seeks to turn awareness into knowledge, action, access and better health outcomes for women and girls across our region. It also advances Soroptimist International’s global health campaign, “Her Health, Our Future”, which promotes gender medicine awareness and a deeper understanding of how biological s*x and gender-related social, cultural and structural factors shape health, disease, diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
Together, these initiatives reinforce an essential message: recognising differences in women’s health is only the beginning. We must translate knowledge into equitable access, better healthcare and lasting change.
Through evidence-informed advocacy, collaboration and community engagement, SI Brisbane is proud to contribute to a broader Soroptimist movement working towards a healthier, more equitable future for all women and girls.
💜 Her Health. Our Wealth. Her Health. Our Future.
