The Give Where You Live Foundation owns and manages The Paddock, a 7 acre community farm in Leopold. The Foundation proudly retains the property as a community asset and supports the learning and employment pathway opportunities it provides.

Thanks to everyone who joined us in Social Procurement Week for a guided farm tour and presentation exploring The Paddock's social enterprise nursery model and its role in creating meaningful social and economic outcomes.

The session also showcased local social enterprises Hope Soap and Unisus, highlighting the impact of social procurement in action.

More than just a craft group. 🧵💙

We're so proud of The Paddock, our seven-acre community farm in Leopold, which is a vibrant, purpose driven space where people of all abilities come together to create a fairer community.

Since our purchase of The Paddock in 2023 it has continued to flourish, not only through what's grown in the ground, but through the skills and opportunity given to those who engage with it.

The "Sewing Ladies" Craft Group regularly gathers in one of the shared spaces at The Paddock, bringing together creativity, friendship and purpose. Their recent donations of hand-knitted blankets, bags and hats to Meli and Cottage by the Sea Queenscliff are a beautiful example of people giving where they live, and helping our community to thrive.

We're continuing to share the news of our Social Innovation Lab and innovation fund investment into homelessness, and shine a spotlight on the urgent need for action in our community.

Investing in innovative solutions to address homelessness across our region, we're proud to have granted $50,000 to Meli’s The Geelong Project.

The Geelong Project is a youth homelessness prevention initiative focused on the concept of “Belonging Before Crisis.” This project seeks to strengthen early intervention responses for young people at risk of homelessness by exploring belonging and connection as key protective factors within school communities.

With the City of Greater Geelong as one of our long term corporate partners, we were proud to take Mayor, Stretch Kontelj to Meli to see the impact of their support firsthand.

Together, we are helping to build a fairer Geelong.
