A huge thank you to the Parkes Services Club for their generous ClubGRANTS donation in support of the Mid Lachlan Support Brigade.

Thanks to this funding, we’ve been able to purchase a laptop, computer monitor, refrigerator, and TV. These items will enhance our operational capability, support training activities, and improve communication and coordination within our brigade.

The new equipment will also make our station a more comfortable place for our volunteers during long standby days and extended operations, especially as we prepare for the upcoming fire season.

We sincerely appreciate the ongoing support of the Parkes Services Club and the ClubGRANTS program. Your investment in our brigade helps ensure our volunteers have the resources they need to continue protecting and supporting our local communities.

Yesterday members of the Support Brigade assisted the Parkes Picnic Races, providing parking and gate operations although there was no horse racing it was a great day had by all in the sun.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Parkes Picnic Races Committee for the opportunity to be involved and support another fantastic community event. It was great to see so many people enjoying the day, and we’re pleased to have been able to contribute to its success.

The Support Brigade is always looking for opportunities to assist our local community. If your organisation, club, or event is looking to gain community support, please reach out to discuss how we may be able to assist.

Within our Avation operations the MLVT Support Brigade works closely with many pilots and aerial firefighting aircraft throughout the fire season, but especially with the team from Fred Fahey Aerial Services.

Next up is Damian, our newly elected Senior Deputy Captain Aviation for the upcoming fire season.

We are incredibly lucky to have Damian as part of the MLVT Support Brigade team. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to supporting both the brigade and the community.

Last season, Damian stepped up to run the airbase operations during the Cashmere Road Fire, playing a key role in supporting aviation operations.

Congratulations Damian on your new role, and thank you for everything you continue to do for the brigade and our community.
