218 ACU PROUDLY DISPLAYS NEW UNIT SHOULDER PATCH

After receiving the necessary approval, 218 ACU proudly wore its unit shoulder patch publicly for the first time when members attended the Handmade and Homegrown Markets.

When the unit was established, it was known as the 218 Regional Cadet Unit Macarthur and the unit has consistently used a ram in its insignia. The unit has kept this tradition and this link with the Macarthur region alive.

218 ACU will now wear this patch when undertaking unit activities and it is proud to do so.

The cadets and staff of 218 ACU wish the Unit’s community and the Campbelltown community a very happy public holiday as we celebrate His Majesty’s official birthday.

🇦🇺 HAPPY KING’S BIRTHDAY 🇦🇺

Today, we recognise and celebrate the official birthday of His Majesty King Charles III, King of Australia.

We reflect on the values of duty, service, leadership, and loyalty that have long been associated with military service to Crown and our Commonwealth, and the King’s personal commitment to youth development.

We wish all members of the Australian Army Cadets family and wider community a safe and enjoyable public holiday.

THANK YOU, CAMPBELLTOWN.

The cadets and staff of 218 ACU wish to express our thanks to the Campbelltown community for its wonderful support at Campbelltown Bunnings on Saturday.

We were successful in raising funds that will assist the Unit in paying for activities for our cadets. This fundraising assists in keeping costs low for our cadets, and we are grateful for your support.

We were also appreciative of the numerous community members who expressed interest in how to get involved. There will be a cadet intake in about a month, so watch this space for an announcement when the intake opens.

218 ACU also expresses our thanks to Bunnings Campbelltown, to C J Butchery - Campbelltown Mall, and to 2 Signal Regiment for their support.

We look forward to having another Bunnings BBQ in the future, and we hope that you will continue to enjoy our snags.

At 218ACU we are extremely fortunate to have four Army Cadet Staff (ACS) and three Defence Approved Helpers (DAH).

These dedicated volunteers spend countless hours planning parade nights and attending adult training courses, in order to deliver the Australian Army Cadet program is a safe and inclusive environment.

To each of them, we say THANK YOU!

SERVICE

218 ACU proudly contributed to the ANZAC Day commemorations in Campbelltown yesterday morning.

From providing the catafalque party for the dawn service to marching down Queen Street, the cadets of 218 ACU paid respect to those who served, those who continue to serve, and to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

In the lead up to ANZAC Day, the cadets worked hard to ensure that their drill was first class. If the feedback received from the Campbelltown community is anything to go by, the cadets achieved that aim. We are as proud of them as the people of Campbelltown are.
