On Wednesday, 24th June 2026, our Rotary Club of Campbelltown (Rotary District 9675) joined hands with our wider Rotary family in Macarthur for an Inaugural Combined Changeover Dinner.

Thank you to the wonderful entertainment provided by The Honey Sippers 🎶

There was such a wonderful energy in the room as we brought together five incredible local clubs:
- Rotary Club of Campbelltown NSW
- Macarthur Sunrise Rotary
- Rotary Club of Picton NSW
- Gregory Hills Next-Gen Rotary
- Macarthur Rotaract

The evening was about reflection and gratitude. We looked back on the projects, hard work, and achievements of the 2025-26 Rotary Year, and gave a massive thank you to our outgoing Presidents & Boards who gave so much of their time and heart 🙏

At the same time, we officially welcomed our incoming Presidents and Boards for the 2026–27 Rotary Year.

The evening was also made incredibly special as we paused to honour some outstanding individuals within our own Campbelltown club for their deep dedication to community service.

Paul Harris Fellow Recognition
Our Paul Harris Fellow recognition is one of the highest honours in Rotary, awarded to individuals who demonstrate a true commitment to the ideals of "Service Above Self." Congratulations to:
⭐️ Past President Binod PAUDEL
⭐️ Past President Jermund JOHANSEN
Thank you both for your heart, leadership, and exceptional contributions.

Significant Length of Service Awards
To dedicate over three and a half decades to volunteering is nothing short of extraordinary. We were thrilled to celebrate two pillars of our club who have officially achieved 35 years of service:
⭐️ Past President David SYMONDS
⭐️ Past President Jermund JOHANSEN

Jermund and David, thank you for 35 years of transforming lives, mentoring youth, and strengthening our local Macarthur community. Your legacy inspires us all.

To every member, partner, and guest who came along, thank you. We are so proud of what we can achieve when we work together. Here’s to another great year of service, community, and friendship in our Macarthur region! 💛

Our Rotary Club of Campbelltown (Rotary District 9675) was proudly represented by Aki & Iru at the 2026 Rotary International Convention in Taipei, Taiwan!

They joined over 37,000 Rotarians from 140+ countries at the Taipei Dome and TaiNEX to celebrate service, global fellowship, and community impact.

⭐️ Malala Yousafzai (Nobel Peace Prize Laureate): Championed global peace and shared an urgent message regarding the critical necessity of girls' education

⭐️ Francesco Arezzo (Rotary International President): Welcomed the global delegation to the Taipei Dome and compared leadership to a relay race, reminding us that no single runner owns the race; the vital moment is the passing of the baton

⭐️ Salome Agbaroji (U.S. National Youth Poet Laureate): Captivated the audience with a powerful spoken-word poetry performance centered on youth leadership, social change, and literacy

⭐️ Natalie Emery (Rotary Peace Fellow Rotary Peace Centers): Discussed her frontline humanitarian work with the World Food Programme, showing how strategic aid is successfully delivered to countries during complex global crises

⭐️ Olayinka Hakeem Babalola (Incoming RI President): Officially introduced his presidential vision for the upcoming 2026-27 year, titled "Create Lasting Impact", challenging members to unlock positive transformation within themselves

⭐️ John Hewko (RI General Secretary and CEO) & Holger Knaack (Rotary Foundation Trustee Chair): Delivered key organisational updates detailing the expanding footprint of global grant projects and local community initiatives

⭐️ Leona Lewis: Amazing British singer, songwriter, and philanthropist closed out the event, utilising her platform to advocate for humanitarian and animal rights causes

Beyond the massive arena sessions, Aki & Iru spent time in the House of Friendship getting to know Rotary Action Groups and clubs from over 140 countries. It really hits home how big our global family is! 🌍💙
