🚨 Community Notice: Upcoming Emergency Management Exercise in Dubbo

If you're near Dubbo Regional Airport on Thursday 22 October, you may notice a larger-than-usual emergency services presence.

There is no cause for concern – this is part of a planned emergency management exercise being conducted between 9am and 12pm.

🌭 🌭WHAT A WEEKEND! 💚💚

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who stopped by our Bunnings BBQ this weekend, grabbed a sausage snag and supported Dubbo Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW.

Every sausage sold helps us continue raising vital funds to support our volunteers, equipment and rescue capability, and we couldn’t do it without the incredible support of our local community.

A massive thank you to Bunnings Warehouse Australia - Dubbo, for giving us the opportunity to fire up the BBQ and fundraise across the weekend. Your ongoing support of local community organisations is greatly appreciated.

We’d also like to give a special shout-out to:

🥩 DMC Meat & Seafood Pty Ltd for supplying our sausages and providing a generous discount to help us make every dollar raised go even further.

🍞 Coles at The Village Southlakes for the incredibly generous donation of bread for the weekend.

And finally, to everyone who volunteered their time and everyone who came past and had a chat, or bought a snag, thank you!!

🌧️ **Long weekend plans? The rain’s coming too.**

Wet roads mean it’s time to slow down, switch your lights on and leave a little extra space. Wherever you’re headed this long weekend, take your time and drive to the conditions.

**Enjoy the break. Stay safe. Let’s all get home safely.** 💚

A fantastic opportunity for our Dubbo Rescue Squad members to undertake specialised Tesla electric-vehicle training, gaining valuable knowledge to help our crews respond safely to incidents involving EVs.

A huge thank you to Simon from Tesla’s Fire Operations & Emergency Response Team for making the trip to Dubbo and sharing his expertise with our volunteers.

Proud to continue building the skills and capability of our local rescue crews. 💚

As electric vehicles become increasingly common on NSW roads, our rescue crews need to be prepared for the unique challenges they can present.

Members from Dubbo Rescue Squad - VRA Rescue NSW recently undertook specialised Tesla electric vehicle training, developing their knowledge around Tesla-specific high-voltage systems, vehicle isolation, battery hazards and safe rescue considerations.

This training provided members with valuable insight and an opportunity to better understand the technology they may encounter during road crash rescue incidents.

Ongoing training like this ensures VRA Rescue NSW volunteers continue to adapt alongside changing vehicle technology, helping our crews respond safely and effectively when our communities need them.

A special thank you to Simon from Tesla’s Fire Operations & Emergency Response Team, who travelled a considerable distance to Dubbo to share his expertise and deliver this exceptional training to our volunteers.
