5 ladies from Dubbo Evening at International Departures on our was to Fiji - this years country of study for CWA.

Tonight was CWA Dubbo Evening Branch’s rostered night to cater for guests at Macquarie Home Stay. We do this 2 to 3 times a year as part of CWA Macquarie Group’s commitment to the community.

Tonight we served Chicken curry, a cowboy casserole, barbecued sausages, potato salad, garden salad, rice, bread rolls with butter (The Little Big Dairy Co.) and followed with a delicious pavlova roll and ice cream!!! It tasted pretty darn good and seemed to fill a few bellies.

Always good to talk to the guest, find out who’s from where, work out who we all know (that 6 degrees of separation rule doesn’t exist here) and help people no matter the journey they are on.

This week another batch of Breast Cancer Cushions made their way to the Dubbo Breast Cancer Clinic. We were running short of time to hand sew them closed so I had a crack at doing it with my machine. Got to say it went surprisingly well.

A small meeting tonight HOWEVER we had our Fijian dinner. Some members prepared Fijian dishes including Palusami, fish, prawn based, chicken curry, rice, coconut custard tart, tapioca cakes and punch. Lots of coconut milk and cream used in these dishes. None of us went hungry.

This evening the ladies of our Branch were rostered on to cater at Macquarie Home Stay. We donned our glad rags, cooked up some tried and true dishes and - hopefully - gave the clients a filling and satisfying meal complete with ice cream, custard, apple crumble and pavlova roll for dessert!!!
