What better way to spend a wintery day than snuggled with a good book? We're open this Sat 20th June from 9am to 3pm at the Kingston Rehab Centre and we have loads of pre-loved good quality fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, kids' and large print books, CDs, DVDs, vinyls and puzzles. Most items $2 and all proceeds go towards patient care. Enter Kingston Rd and follow the signs to free parking on the right as you drive in. (Ignore Permit Only signs, they don't apply to our customers!)

We're open again this Saturday 16th May from 9am to 3pm. We're always adding new books to the shelves so come in and grab an interesting read (we promise we won't scam you!). Good quality pre-loved fiction, non-fiction, kids', large print and fantasy books, plus puzzles, CDs, DVDs and vinyls. Most items $2 and all proceeds go towards patient care. We have decided to open the book shop this Sat 18th April despite our ongoing problems with parking thanks to Monash Health's decision to put it in the hands of Ace Parking. There will be limited spaces in the carpark on the right as you drive in (which will be sign posted). Please don't worry about any Permit Only signs, they don't apply to our customers! While this problem lasts, and potentially reduces the number of people coming to the shop, we will be opening with slightly shorter hours - 9am to 3pm. We've had several drop-offs lately so some new stock on the shelves. Most items $2 and all proceeds go towards patient care. Hope to see some of you this weekend!

We are sad to announce that the book shop will not be open this coming Saturday 21st March. Reluctantly, we have decided to close temporarily until our parking issues are resolved. As some of you will already know, Monash Health have put all Kingston Rehab Centre parking into the hands of Ace Parking. After some negotiation we were allocated a very small free carpark for shop volunteers and customers (complete with Permit Only and Disabled signs that they wouldn't remove or cover). Unfortunately, this small carpark has been filling up very early in the morning (with staff cars and/or hospital visitors taking advantage of free parking) to the point where it has been difficult for even volunteers to park anywhere, let alone customers. We fear that we've lost many regular and potential customers for this reason and we would hate to lose any more! So until we can negotiate a better deal with Monash Health and Ace Parking we will be out of action. Sad for us, sad for the patients losing out on funding, and sad for the many customers who love our shop and our cheap prices! Hopefully it won't be forever. Watch this space...

DID SOMEONE SAY AUDIO-VISUAL SALE??? Drop by the book shop this Sat 21st Feb from 9am to 4pm and you could grab some new music or movies really, really cheap! This month only, buy ten CDs, DVDs or vinyls and pay only $5. Yes, you read that right! 10 ITEMS FOR $5!! We have a huge selection and nowhere to put them so we're clearing the shelves to make some room. And of course there's also our usual selection of good quality pre-loved books: kids', fiction, non-fiction, fantasy, big print, most for only $2. All proceeds go towards patient care. November 15th is your last chance to pick up a stocking stuffer at the Moorabbin Lions Book Shop because we won't be open in December! Good quality (some as-new) pre-loved fiction, non-fiction, big print and fantasy books, CDs, DVDs, vinyls and puzzles. Most items $2 and all proceeds go towards patient care. And we still have some FREE kids' books to give away! Open 9am to 5pm, and (weather permitting) Tony will be manning the bbq at lunchtime so you can pick up a snack and drink while you're there. Did somebody say BOOK SALE?! Yes! Moorabbin Lions are having a huge book sale this Sat 18th October from 9am to 4pm to clear our shelves for new stock! ALL items will be $1 except kids' books which will be FREE!! Yes, you read that right, folks...free children's books! Everything else in store, including fiction, non-fiction, fantasy and big print pre-loved books, CDs, DVDs, vinyls and puzzles is ONE DOLLAR. And if that's not enough to whet your appetite, Tony will be at the bbq cooking sausages and selling drinks at lunchtime (weather permitting). Entry is via Heatherton Rd - follow the signs to free parking on the righthand side as you drive in. All proceeds go towards patient care.

Looking for something the whole family can share? Come and buy a book (or two) at our sale this Sat 20th September from 9am to 4pm. Weather permitting, the sausage sizzle will be on so you can grab a snack and a drink while you're there! Enter via Heatherton Rd and follow signs.
