On Wednesday 23rd September, The NSW Volunteer of the year awards were held in Orange. Congratulations to our very own Lyn Townsend on being the recipient of the 2026 Central West Adult Volunteer of the Year Award.

Lyn has received this award for her long-term and consistent dedication to the Parkes Musical and Dramatic Society. From spending thousands of hours producing high-quality productions, supporting the development of our next generation of performers and creative leaders across the region, to introducing accessible shows for audiences that include subtitles and autism-friendly performances.

Thank you Lyn, for ensuring the theatre is accessible and welcoming to both our members and audiences.

With more than 300 people in the audience, it was a wonderful example of school theatre bringing students, families and the wider community together.

Another stop for CAT Awards judges as they continue recognising excellence in school and youth theatre across the ACT and NSW. ✨
