Join us for our 2026 Birds of Paradise Ball - our most vibrant event yet! After surviving another year of code, calculations, labs and late nights, it's time for students to swap laptops for cocktails and blow off some steam. Expect an unforgettable night of music, dancing and tropical glamour at nowhere other than our treasured Hellenic Club. Dress loud and luminous - think bright colours, feathers, sequins and all things paradise!

Location: The Hellenic Club of Canberra (Woden)

Machine learning in an applied setting often goes quite differently than in the classroom or a purely research environment. Inspired by a variety of real life examples from finance and beyond, we'll discuss some ways LLMs and other deep learning models can go off the rails in surprising ways.

Tons of fun to be had in Bush Week Tech Fest. Join us THIS FRIDAY for three days of tech, cyber, and community building. You won’t want to miss this:

Featuring:
- Friday 10am-4pm Tech Talk Conference with over 18 speakers and panellists including Wiz/Google and CommBank in the Birch Building @ ANU

- Friday 5pm launch of the 48hr Bush Bash CTF (a software security challenge, beginner friendly!), available on-prem Friday, Saturday and Sunday in Melville Hall

- Sat+Sun 12pm free BBQ lunch

- Saturday 6pm Private Screening of The Matrix at Dendy Cinema (dirt cheap: just $6.50!)

- Sunday 5pm CTF Finale and Prizes co-presented by CEO and CTO of Infosect (a Canberra Cybersec and Vulnerability Analysis Company) - Kylie and Silvio

- Sunday 6pm social and celebratory Networking and Drinks Night at Verity Lane, Alinga St, Civic (also cheap: just $7.50 for two drinks and food!)
