The Cake Decorators’ Association of the ACT was established in 1980 for local practitioners of the wonderful art of cake decorating and sugarcraft. The Association meets on the 2nd Saturday of every 2nd month — in February, April, June, August, October and December. Most meetings typically include a demonstration and a discussion about: Cake shows, classes & other recent/coming events; Reference m
aterials; Projects & experiments; Tools, ingredients & other services/supplies; and Tips & techniques. There’s lots of opportunities to ask questions and bounce ideas around both during the meeting and at afternoon tea. Non-members are most welcome to attend a General Meeting to find out more about what we do. Ice Age, the Association’s official newsletter, is circulated without charge to financial members of the Association and on an exchange basis to kindred Societies four times a year or so. Each edition of Ice Age includes summary details of the generous discounts local decorating suppliers offer our members and a list of coming decorating events (e.g. tutorials, workshops, courses, shows, bus trips, social gatherings) known to us at that time. Details of events that arise between editions may be posted on our either our page and/or mentioned at our next meeting. Depending on the event, we may also post/email IceAge subscribers a separate note about special events that arise between editions. The Association’s Open Day, held every two years , provides an opportunity for interstate demonstrators to display their skills to decorators located in the ACT and nearby regions. Keep an eye on this page for details of our Meetings and other activities.
