Congratulations to Brodie Adler, one recipient of the 2026 AHIFF Helicopter Maintenance Engineers Scholarship!

Brodie is a 2nd year rotary apprentice at in Cairns. As a mature-age apprentice juggling multiple jobs to fund her training, Brodie's commitment, grit, and her genuine passion for the industry are exactly what this scholarship was created to support.

The $4,500 award will help Brodie invest in the specialised tooling she needs to grow her skills and focus more energy on her training and development. She hopes, once qualified, to work in regional and remote rotary wing operations. We hope Brodie's story inspires other women to consider a career in rotary wing maintenance.

Being part of the AHIA means access to opportunities like this for your people, and your business.

Congratulations, Brodie!

Awarded by AHIA in partnership with AHIFF and AMDA Foundation Limited at RotorTech 2026, Gold Coast.

🚁 Speaker Announcement | RHC Pilot Safety Course
πŸ“ Darwin | 7–9 July 2026

We're excited to welcome Daniel Huesca, Senior Technical Support Representative at Robinson Helicopter Company , as a speaker at this year's course.

With 30 years at RHC, Daniel brings rare depth to everything he teaches. His career spans subassembly, quality control, rigging, and technical support β€” meaning he's had his hands on virtually every system inside an R22, R44, and R66. He holds an FAA A&P licence with Inspection Authorization, plus a private pilot licence on the R22.

When Daniel talks about how these aircraft work β€” and what can go wrong β€” he speaks from experience that's hard to find anywhere else in the room.
Daniel will be making the trip out from America especially for this course, and we can't wait to have him in Darwin.

We're thrilled to introduce Guillaume Maillet, Chief Flying Instructor at Robinson Helicopter Company, as a speaker at this year's course.

As a Robinson factory instructor for more than two decades, he's trained pilots across the full spectrum β€” from private applicants through to commercial, law enforcement, and military aviators. His focus has always been the same: risk management, sound decision-making, and real aircraft proficiency.

Safety initiatives like this sit at the core of what the AHIA is here to do. We exist to support the people who keep Australia's rotary aviation industry flying, and that means more than advocacy and membership. This course is one of the most direct ways we can deliver on that commitment.

"The pilots attending this course fly low, fast, and alone across some of the most remote country on earth. They operate in conditions that demand exceptional skill, sound judgement, and up-to-date safety knowledge, and they deserve access to world-class training to match."
- Julian Fraser, CEO AHIA

The AHIA has a responsibility to ensure that the industry we represent has access to the best possible safety resources, and partnering with Robinson Helicopter Company and Helico Australia to deliver this course in Darwin is a direct expression of that commitment.

This is not a tick-and-flick. It is a practical, in-depth program built for pilots who take the muster work seriously.

The RHC Pilot Safety Course is coming to Australia.
Hard Country. Smart Flying.
7-9 July 2026

Delivered in partnership with Robinson Helicopter Company & Helico Australia, & supported by the Australian Helicopter Industry Association (AHIA), this course represents an important investment in operational safety, pilot competency, & standardisation across the Robinson fleet.

Robinson helicopters are the backbone of mustering & remote bush operations across Australia. From low-level stock work and long days in harsh conditions, to isolated regional flying where judgement and aircraft handling matter every minute, these aircraft and the pilots flying them operate in some of the most demanding environments in aviation.

Industry-led safety initiatives like the RHC Pilot Safety Course give muster pilots and bush operators the opportunity to sharpen operational awareness, reinforce practical flying techniques, share real-world lessons, and strengthen the safety culture that keeps crews working safely in the outback.

Across 3 days, the course will focus on:
πŸ”Έ Aircraft handling and limitations
πŸ”Έ Operational decision making
πŸ”Έ Emergency procedures
πŸ”Έ Human factors and safety awareness
πŸ”Έ Real-world operational lessons and case studies

Strong safety culture is built through continuous learning and proactive engagement across the sector.

Brisbane. Complete. And with that, the AHIA H125 Instructors Masterclass with Didier Delsalle is officially concluded.

The final session of the series wrapped up today over at V2 Helicopters in Brisbane, bringing an extraordinary three-city program to a close.

From Sydney to Melbourne to Brisbane, the response from our community has been humbling. Pilots, instructors and operators across the country showed up, engaged deeply, and walked away better equipped, and that is exactly what this program was designed to achieve.

"The AHIA is incredibly proud to have brought a speaker of Didier's calibre directly to the men and women who work on this machine every day. The response from our community has been outstanding. The uptake from both members and non-members alike has been overwhelmingly positive, and a clear reflection of the appetite our industry has for high-quality professional development. Programs of this standard are only possible through the collective support of our members, our industry partners, and the sponsors who backed this initiative from the beginning. Thank you to everyone who was part of it."

β€” Julian Fraser, CEO, Australian Helicopter Industry Association

"Un excellent moment en vol pour tous!"
