Stroke patient being given a walker. The smile on the face of the recipient js absolutely priceless. Thanks again to PP Rotary Club Of Brisbane International

These visuals are a great incentive and reminder for all members and our communities to think outside the box and suggest projects that is your β€œWhy” in Rotary to the RCBI Board for consideration.

In my 9 plus years as the international Project Director we have succeeded in projects that we initially thought were impossible. Some that come to mind off the cuff are

- 136 brand new wheel chairs manufactured brand new in China and delivered directly to Fiji
- 500 bags packed with primary and high school supplies to outer islands and remote areas of Fiji
- Cyclone Yassa Container of hardware material to Vanua Levu Fiji valued at over AUD 60K
- Tatana island Library project off the coast of Port Moresby PNG
- Fiji Dialysis project last year and now
- our Vanua Balavu Project.

Think big folks RCBI knows how to turn conversations into action, to Unite for Good and Create Lasting Impact.

The true measure of service is not what we give, but the smiles we help create Rotary Club Of Brisbane International & Rotaract Club of Brisbane International

There is something truly special about a smile that comes from hope.
The smiles at LomaLoma Hospital in Vanuabalavu, Lau, Fiji, are more than expressions of happinessβ€”they are reflections of lives being touched, comfort being restored, and communities knowing they have not been forgotten.

What may have started as a container of medical equipment and supplies has now become something far greater: a symbol of compassion, partnership, and human kindness.

For all those involved in making this project a realityβ€”from the members of , our partners, donors, volunteers, and the dedicated staff at LomaLoma Hospitalβ€”those smiles are the greatest reward.
They remind us that when we come together in the spirit of Service Above Self, we can create meaningful and lasting impact, even across oceans.

As we witness these inspiring moments, we are reminded that kindness travels far, hope reaches distant shores, and sometimes a simple smile tells the whole story.

What a Birthday moment for PP Soko NikoπŸ˜ƒ celebrating her birthday yesterday with these moments.

Exciting News from Vanuabalavu! Lau Fiji with Rotary Club Of Brisbane International & Rotaract Club of Brisbane International
The Rotary Club of Brisbane International is delighted to share that our Medical Container Project has successfully reached Lomaloma Hospital on the island of Vanuabalavu in Fiji's Lau Group. This is a significant milestone in our club's first major outer-island international project, bringing much-needed medical supplies and equipment to support the hospital and surrounding island communities. οΏ½

This achievement would not have been possible without the dedication of our project partners, volunteers, donors, and supporters who believed in making a difference for those living in remote island communities. A special thank you to our partners, including Rotary District 9620 RARE, Someone Who Cares, and our Fiji-based supporters who helped ensure the container completed its journey to one of Fiji's most isolated regions.
A special Vinaka Vakalevu to the Project Chair PP Soko Niko, International Projects Director PP Rajnish Padarath and all members of RCBI for their support.

While the container has reached its destination, the real impact is only beginning. The supplies delivered will assist healthcare workers in providing better care and improved health outcomes for the people of Vanuabalavu and neighbouring islands.

As President of the Rotary Club of Brisbane International, I am immensely proud of our club for what can be achieved when people come together in the spirit of Service Above Self.

Together we continue to Unite for Good and Create Lasting Impact. πŸŒβ€οΈπŸ‡«πŸ‡―

Today I had the pleasure of speaking with Sister Shimla Devi, Sister-in-Charge of the LomaLoma Hospital in Vanuabalavu, Lau, and expressing our heartfelt sentiments on behalf of the Rotary Club Of Brisbane International regarding the medical container being sent to support her hospital and the surrounding outer islands.

Sister Shimla was extremely appreciative of this support and shared her gratitude for the impact these much-needed medical supplies will have on the people of LomaLoma and neighbouring communities. She has kindly offered to send us photographs of both the container upon arrival and the hospital, allowing us to see firsthand how this project will make a difference.

While I am disappointed that time and travel constraints have prevented me from visiting LomaLoma during this trip, I remain hopeful that one day in the near future I will have the opportunity to visit this beautiful island community and witness the impact of this project personally.

This initiative would not have been possible without the support and partnership of RARE Rotary District 9620 , Someone Who Cares, PP Soko Niko, Filipe Niko, our International Projects Director PP Rajnish Padarath, fellow Rotarians, and the many volunteers and supporters who have helped bring this vision to life.

Together, we are making a difference where it is needed most.

Let's Unite for Good and Create Lasting Impact.

πŸŒ΄β˜• This morning in Suva Fiji, Dipak Amratlal President of the Rotary Club Of Brisbane International I had the pleasure of catching up with Filipe Niko over breakfast in Suva.

It was truly inspiring to hear and see firsthand the commitment Filipe has shown towards our Loma Loma Hospital Project in Vanuabalavu, Lau. At his own personal expense, Filipe made the journey to Suva to ensure the container of much-needed medical supplies was properly received, organised, and freighted onwards to Loma Loma Hospital.

Acts of service like this remind us that Rotary is not just about projectsβ€”it is about people who quietly step forward and make things happen without seeking recognition.

On behalf of the Rotary Club Of Brisbane International , I extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to PP Soko Niko and Filipe Niko for their dedication, generosity, and commitment to serving others. Your efforts will have a lasting impact on the people of Loma Loma and the wider Lau Group.

πŸ’™ Service Above Self is more than a mottoβ€”it is a way of life, and today Filipe and Soko have demonstrated exactly what that means.

πŸ™ Vinaka Vakalevu, Filipe and Soko, for helping us turn compassion into action and bringing hope to those who need it most.
As we continue our Rotary journey, may we never forget that it is ordinary people doing extraordinary things that change lives and strengthen communities.

Let's Unite for Good and Create Lasting Impact. πŸ’™πŸŒπŸ€
