“I think my child is having panic attacks. What should I do?”
It’s a question many parents never expect to ask. But for some families, anxiety begins early - often before it is fully understood.
Dr Gemma Sicouri’s research is helping change that.
Her work focuses on how panic and anxiety present in young children, and how caregivers can better recognise and respond to those early experiences. Because what looks like fear can quickly become something more if it isn’t understood.
Her research helps parents and caregivers:
• recognise early signs
• respond with confidence
• support children through moments that feel overwhelming
This is what early research makes possible. Not just understanding - but guidance. Not just theory - but practical support.
As we approach EOFY, your support helps ensure more work like this continues - helping families navigate moments that matter. Every donation over $2 is tax deductible.
