headspace Cairns is a free mental health service which aims to support 12-25 year olds in Cairns!

headspace can help you if you:

•want to see a Doctor about your physical health (e.g. check-ups, sexual health etc.)

•are feeling worried, down, anxious or upset about anything

•are having hassles with friends, family, and/or your partner

•want help to reduce or stop your alcohol and/or other drug use

•want help to find a job or further your education

•want to meet other people, discuss topics of concern, learn new things, and have fun

The count down is on to our Sunsets and Sausage Sizzle November 4th to celebrate this years headspace Day, where we’re making space for something we don’t always make time for: doing nothing*.

So come down have a sausage and enjoy a moment to watch the sunset with us.

Young people are often encouraged to keep doing, achieving and adding more to their daily lives. But sometimes, looking after your mental health means doing less — slowing down, switching off and giving yourself permission to pause.

So come down have a sausage and enjoy a moment to watch the sunset with us.

✨BPD Awareness Week 1st - 7th pf October✨

💕Connection Changes Outcomes💕

This BPD Awareness Week headspace Cairns celebrates those young people living with BPD, their families and our clinicians who deliver our DBT Program.

This year’s theme - 'Connection Changes Outcomes: In BPD, Every Interaction Matters' - recognises that relationships and human connection play a central role in recovery for people living with BPD.

Experiences of stigma, misunderstanding, rejection, and invalidation increase shame, distress, and disconnection. Empathy, safety, consistency, and understanding can reduce crisis and strengthen hope and recovery.

The campaign highlights that small relational moments - the language we use, how we listen, and our willingness to remain present - can profoundly influence outcomes.

We’re currently looking for a Youth Vocational Specialist to join our team.

In this permanent full-time role, you’ll be a key part of our integrated clinical services, helping young people with mental health challenges achieve their education and employment goals through the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model.

This program supports people aged 12–25, including those still in school, young people who have left school, and adults considering tertiary study, training, or career pathways.
