Cairns Community Christmas Lunch We provide a free lunch on Christmas day to anyone who has nowhere else to go. No strings, no preaching, no charge.

I heard a lovely story today from one of the long-term volunteers. This person asked the plate scrapers to scrape any meat and green veggies left on plates into a container she provided. At the end of the event, she took the container to YAPS where fortunately there was someone on duty. Between them they fed all the dogs a special Christmas meal. She said the memory she took away from there was of lots of waggy tails as they ate. Well done Debbie H - you are a star!

Christmas is almost here; Santa is polishing his sleigh and Mrs Claus has been busy in the laundry.

And we are well into preparations for our Christmas Day lunch at St Augustine’s. All are welcome to come and enjoy a traditional Christmas lunch served in the college dining hall at 251 Draper Street. Transport is available if you live outside the city.

David's memorial yesterday was very moving. It was a beautiful ceremony.; only a handful of people, but nearly 20 streamed in. Rest in Peace David.

It's nearly Christmas and this year will be a sad one for us. Our President David Lennie recently passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at home. He will be greatly missed. There is a memorial for him on Monday 24th November at White Lady Funerals, 114 Mulgrave Street, at 10am.
