🔥 NAIDOC EDOR CARNIVAL CAIRNS 2026 🔥

Together with Harbrow Mentoring, we are proud to present the 5th NAIDOC EDOR Carnival Cairns - A FREE EVENT OPEN TO ALL.

For five years, the carnival has brought together young people, families and communities from across Cairns, Cape York and Far North Queensland to celebrate culture, connection and competition through the Traditional Indigenous Game of EDOR.

📅 Wednesday - 8 July 2026
⏰ 9:00am – 3:00pm
📍 North Cairns Tigers Football Club (32 Behan Street, Manunda)

🏃 Junior Competition (8–11 years)
🏃 Youth Competition (12–17 years)

✔ FREE team shirt for registered players
✔ FREE lunch for players/spectors plus snacks/drinks for players
✔ Individual and team registrations welcome
✔ 6 v 6 mixed comps (max 9 players per team)
✔ Transport assistance available (enquire)

EDOR is a fast-paced chasing and tagging game played barefoot on grass with oztags. It promotes teamwork, agility, sportsmanship, cultural pride and community connection while providing a fun and active school holiday experience for young people.

🔥 2nd Southside Deadly 5’s Carnival – What a Day! 🔥

Big energy, big smiles and deadly talent on display! 💪🏾

We had 90 young people (ages 8–17yrs) come through for a full day of grassroots sport, community and fun at PCYC Edmonton.

⚽ Knockout soccer games kicked things off – umpired by the deadly team from John Moriarty Football
🏀 Followed by fast-paced basketball action
🍴 Refuel with an unreal lunch by BLAQ PEARL Indigenous Catering, with AFL Cairns running mini games, plus The Benevolent Society & Life Ed Qld bringing fun activities and challenges
🔥 Then we finished strong with our much-anticipated mini EDOR competition, played barefoot on the Mulgrave Combined Cricket Association fields outback

With Junior & Youth divisions, the competition was fierce but respectful — exactly what community and sport is about.

🏆 Huge shoutout to our winners & MVPs who took home their choice of sports balls!

This wasn’t just about sport — it was about connection, culture, confidence and celebrating our young people.

Huge thanks to Mission Australia Communities for Children Aspire Cairns Community Limited & PCYC Edmonton for funding and collaboration on the day to make this happen for our young people!!

Registrations on the day between 11am-12pm. Junior and Youth games - ages 8-17yrs. Small activities for the little ones. 📝📝

Teams of 5 - Soccer and Basketball fun games, break for a free feed at 2pm then finishing with an Edor Competition 🥅⚽️🏀🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏾‍♂️

🏖️ Surf Life Saving Fastest on Sand Event 🏖️

Back again for the 3rd time 🤩 the annual Fastest on the Sand Beach event brought to you by Surf Life Saving QLD 🏃🏽‍♀️‍➡️🏃🏽‍♂️‍➡️

The event is jam packed with beach activities and SLSQ events, one of the favourites being beach flags. Experience the excitement of Surf Sports and discover who actually is the Fastest on the Sand!
