We will be selling raffle tickets to 2 meat trays that have been donated by Macalister Brewing Company to raise funds for our scout group- tell all your friends to come and support us tomorrow from 5pm

Last week's meat tray raffle raised $494 for FNQ Legacy who use the funds to provide support to the families of Servicemen who have lost their lives serving in the Australian Defence Forces.

Thank you to all who bought tickets.

To be completely transparent Macalisters purchases the meat trays at our expense as our charity donation, and all the ticket sales go to the chosen charity for the week.

This week we will be donating to The Edge Hill Scouts group.

Tonight WOW and TNT visited the Cairns SES Headquarters to build on their scouting and practical skills. The group learned how to tie down tarps, fill sandbags, and safely cut branches using a silky saw.

A huge thank you to the SES volunteers for sharing their knowledge and giving our Scouts such a hands-on and valuable experience! 👏🌟

A wonderful turnout today for the Gordonvale ANZAC Day March.

We are incredibly proud of our Joey Scouts, Cub Scouts, Scouts, Venturers and Rovers who marched with respect, pride and a strong sense of community.

A very big thank you also to the Leaders, Assistant Leaders, volunteer helpers and parent volunteers who make days like this possible. So much of Scouting happens because people simply show up, lend a hand, guide our young people and quietly support them as they grow into confident, capable and community-minded leaders.

Thank you to everyone who represented Edge Hill Scout Group so well today.

Lest We Forget.

A very moving moment from this morning’s ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Martyn Street Cemetery War Graves.

There is something incredibly powerful hearing the bugle sound in the stillness of the cemetery before sunrise, with our Venturers and Rovers standing respectfully in the early hours of the morning.

This place also has a special connection for Edge Hill Scout Group. The cemetery backs onto the Edge Hill Scout Den, and our previous Mayor, Bob Manning, was an early Scout at Edge Hill. As a young man, he would jump the creek and enjoy the adventurous life that Scouting encourages — a spirit that stayed with him through to becoming Mayor of Cairns.

A 3:30–4:00am start is not easy, but moments like this remind us why we gather, remember and pay our respects.

Proud of our Edge Hill Scouts and Rovers for being there and representing our Group with such respect.

Lest We Forget.

A huge thank you and well done to our Edge Hill Rovers and Venturers who attended the ANZAC Day Dawn Service at Martyn Street Cemetery War Graves.

We are very proud of them for making their own wreaths, bringing them along, and respectfully placing them in honour of those who served.

It was a very early 3:00am start, but they represented Edge Hill Scout Group beautifully and showed real commitment, respect and community spirit.

A big day for many of them, with several also continuing on to attend the Gordonvale ANZAC Day service.

Lest We Forget.
