The Cairns African Association (CAA) through the spirit of Ubuntu, brings together the diversity from Africa to link into the diverse cultures already represented in Far North Queensland. Our mission is to raise awareness and celebrate the positive contributions and vibrant culture of the African community in and around Cairns. This platform is dedicated to community members, friends, allies, and advocates, offering a space to share resources, events, opportunities, and networks that support integration into Australian society. Guidelines:

-> Maintain neutrality and objectivity in your posts and comments.
-> Discrimination, bullying, intimidation, abuse, harassment, sexism, or threatening behavior towards others will not be tolerated.

What a wonderful extravaganza—a true celebration of culture, community and connection! The performances were vibrant and uplifting, and CARMA’s birthday was a beautiful opportunity to honour the leaders who have shaped its journey throughout the years.
It was especially moving to witness community leaders recognise Andrea’s exceptional leadership and lasting contribution. As she moves on from CMS into a new space, she leaves behind big shoes to fill and a legacy built on genuine relationships, inclusion and service.
Congratulations to CARMA, all the past and present leaders, performers and everyone who made this memorable celebration possible. Andrea, you may be moving on, but your place within our multicultural community remains firmly cemented. ❤️

As I celebrate another trip around the sun, I am deeply grateful to my community for trusting me with the privilege of leading and serving.
To everyone who has stepped forward, given their time, supported the vision and helped turn ideas into meaningful action, thank you. Nothing we have achieved has been mine alone. It has taken many willing hands, generous hearts and a shared belief in what is possible when we work together.
